Summer financing matchmaking meeting to help the development of hard technology entrepreneurship projects

At the beginning of the matchmaking meeting, Professor Li Zexiang, the founder of XbotPark Robot Base, delivered the opening speech. He thanked the investors for their great patience and support for the young entrepreneurial team of the base, believing that this group of young people will live up to expectations in the future.

Subsequently, the nine enterprises respectively carried out a roadshow display, and they showed their project prospects to the investors present through wonderful narration and interpretation, and looked for capital "bole". The road show of enterprises, the exploration direction covers intelligent C-end, smart travel, smart health and other current hot areas, aiming at the new mouth of hard science and technology innovation, for the current hot demand to bring new answers.

According to Zerotek Research Center data show that in 2022, the four major industries of IT, semiconductor and electronic equipment, biomedicine and machinery manufacturing investment events accounted for 72.1% of the total number of investment cases in the market. On the way of cultivating scientific and creative talents, Professor Li Zexiang has been walking for 30 years. In terms of incubating companies and promoting industry development, his focus has always been to cultivate "people who can create new things with technology", connecting technology, young people and market needs.

The transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry cannot be achieved without young entrepreneurs. Therefore, it is crucial to create a number of global influential C-end technology brands to drive B-end industry chain enterprises and construct their own new manufacturing system. To this end, Professor Li Zexiang has set a goal: Establish a set of new engineering undergraduate and graduate training programs and support systems with a brand new mechanism to train a group of excellent system engineers, product managers and entrepreneurs needed for C-end hard technology product innovation, and help them embark on the road of entrepreneurship and accept the test of the market. At the same time, we also hope to use the mature ability of these talents. It can allow the entrepreneurial team to compress the entrepreneurial cycle and reduce the cost of trial and error.

Professor Li then launched a multi-faceted exploration, in the process, he realized that students should find and define problems through extensive market research, and integrate interdisciplinary technology and supply chain resources to solve problems. A large number of young people trained on this basis have also mostly embarked on the road of entrepreneurs.

In 2014, XbotPark Robot Base was established. Professor Li Zexiang, based on academic entrepreneurship exploration, gathers core entrepreneurial resources, systematically cultivates academic entrepreneurs, and systematically incubates science and technology enterprises with C-end products as the main products.

So, how can students and young entrepreneurs find and master a set of scientific methods and effective tools to knock on the door of their entrepreneurship? Through deep interaction with Stanford d.school and Erlin School of Technology, Professor Li Zexiang realized that "design thinking" may be an effective way to solve this problem.

To test the theory, XbotPark Robotics Base held a six-week training camp for smart construction in 2019. By learning and applying design thinking tools and under the guidance of enterprise engineers, the seven student teams found and defined a series of "good questions" through on-site observation, user research and front-line work, and gave full play to the advantages of industrial chain resources around Songshan Lake, quickly iterated prototypes, and found the starting point for entrepreneurship. After this training camp, the two teams embarked on the road to entrepreneurship. In 2020, the base opened a smart home themed science and technology camp, of which half the team has also embarked on the road of entrepreneurial exploration.

After years of repeated practice and verification, Professor Li Zexiang has helped groups of young people embark on the road of entrepreneurship, and with the gradual expansion of the scale of the base, this model has also attracted the attention and participation of more cities and schools.
