/PRZWT/BEIJING, Nov. 29, 2024 - ARC'TERYX, a professional outdoor brand with roots in the Canadian Coast Mountains, has launched a new alpine free-skiing collection, Grottoflage. The brand introduced a print design for the first time in the ski collection, inspired by the changeable weather in the mountain snow environment, and through multiple tests, its camouflage prints have evolved over time to show multiple colors, which will become a unique interpretation of the self-style of every athlete and ski enthusiast wearing Grottoflage equipment.
In addition, in order to create accurate and professional products in harsh snow conditions, the brand continues the tradition of working closely with athletes around the world. This time, it has joined hands with Archaeopteryx athlete Craig Murray and sports equipment brand Atomic Atomic to launch limited-edition skis. It aims to pay the highest tribute to the mountains that continue to inspire us and drive outdoor innovation.
"We have deeply deconstructed the brand logo, creating a textured pattern texture through the layering of gray and black tones. Grottoflage is our unique interpretation of camouflage patterns, inspired by the highly regarded Grotto fleece cap. By constantly polishing this design, every detail is meticulously crafted to achieve visual perfection."
- Philip O'Sullivan, Director of Color and Graphic Design
The Grottoflage print design superimposes the Archaeopteryx logo through screen printing on the basis of the selected base color. The design team added seasonal thinking and used this to build systematic and innovative graphics, so that the Grottoflage print will change over time, with more changes in color and tone full of contrast and shade. The series uses nylon fabric with high strength and wear resistance, which meets the test of the complex environment that alpine free skiing will face, but at the same time, the printing design on nylon fabric poses a great challenge to color fastness.
The designers have rigorously tested the color fastness of Grottoflage printing. After two years of research and development, they ensure that the fabric can maintain the durability of color even under the action of external factors such as washing, sunlight or sweat, and is not easy to fade or bleed. The use of high-quality nylon fabric as the printing substrate ensures durability and longevity while giving the design excellent texture.
Combining timeless and classic hues with unique prints, the new Grottoflage collection covers all the classics of the Alpine Freestyle Skiing collection, including Sentinel jackets, Sabre trousers and jackets, and Rho base layers. At the same time, in collaboration with sportswear brand Artomick, the Grottoflage collection launched a limited edition snowboard with the same print - Atomic Maverick 115 CTI Arc'teryx Edition. Born among the mountains, this limited edition snowboard bears witness to the brand's deep resonance with the spirit of mountain snow.
After being repeatedly polished through the field tests of Archaeopteryx athlete Craig Murray, Archaeopteryx's ingenious spirit of excellence and Atomic's excellent technical craftsmanship are ingeniously integrated. This series will become a symbol of the adventurous spirit of more Alpine Freestyle Skiing athletes, and together with them, they will set out again with endless enthusiasm to go to the mountains.
