The event system is fully renovated, and the first and last echoes form a joint force
As the only officially recognized youth golf development program in China, the CGA-HSBC China Youth Golf Development Program has further optimized the schedule planning on the basis of being widely recognized by all parties, and has united forces to create a more professional and influential youth competition system.
On March 25, the first game of the season - the 2024 HSBC National Junior Golf Championship Championship has been played at the Guangzhou Aeolus Golf Club. In the new year, a total of eight high-level events (one first-level tournament, two second-level competitions, and five third-level competitions) will accompany young players to experience the unique courses across the motherland.
In addition to the explosive start of the championship tournament and the second-level competition to welcome everyone back to the field, there are also two competitions at the end of the season, the HSBC National Junior Golf Championship Finals (second-level) and the HSBC China Junior Golf Open (first-level), to test your achievements this year and draw a successful conclusion to the season. The first and last echoes form a joint force to create a more reasonable rhythm of the season, and make each game more worth looking forward to.
Strengthen innovative thinking and deepen the "path of champions" promotion system
At the beginning of the 2023 season, HSBC Junior officially launched the landmark "HSBC Junior Champion Road" promotion system. In the past season, the promotion system not only allowed more young players to have the experience of high-level competitions, but also helped outstanding players have the opportunity to go to a wider golf stage.
This benign development trend has made us realize the importance of insisting on improving the youth competition system. In the 2024 season, we will continue to deepen the "road to the championship" promotion system, strengthen innovative thinking, and achieve the same direction of top-level design and grassroots exploration based on eight high-level events.
1. Top-level design: a broader overseas stage
For a long time, HSBC Junior has been looking forward to promoting the exchange of young players at home and abroad through golf. This season, we will provide domestic top golf junior players with the opportunity to participate in two heavyweight overseas tournaments, including:
2024 AJGA Brandon Wu Championship (AJGA Open level)
Time: July 15-18, 2024
Number of wild cards: 4 participating wild cards (2 for each gender)
Qualifying: HSBC National Junior Golf Championship and HSBC National Junior Golf Championship First Stage Male and Female Group A Champions
2024 British Junior Open
Time: July 15-17, 2024
Eligibility: one man and one woman
Qualification: The HSBC China Golf Association Youth Ranking List (referred to as "HSBC National Youth Ranking List") will serve as the basis for the selection of participating players. The CGA determines the closing time according to the date of the current competition, and selects two Chinese youth players aged 12 to 16, a man and a woman, who meet the regulations of the competition according to the ranking. After joining the China Golf Youth Team, the selected players will be organized by the association and then go to the UK to participate in the event.
2. Grassroots Exploration: The Road to Champions Challenge (Tier 6) Upgrade and Return
The Champions' Road Challenge, as a key part of the "Champions' Road" promotion system, focuses on the grassroots needs of more young players and brings high-level participation opportunities to more young players, which has been widely recognized.
In the 2024 season, on the basis of successful practice, the HSBC Junior Champions Road Challenge (Tier 6) has been upgraded and returned, effectively promoting the development of sports, improving the quality and upgrading of youth golf events, and becoming the strength and support for building a sports power. From April, the Challenge will officially start its second season, covering the six major cities of Guangzhou, Hengdian, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Beijing, and Suzhou. At the same time, the number of champion players will be greatly increased. Three players will have the opportunity to advance to the third level of each challenge.
Join hands with "new and old partners" to witness a better version of yourself
Since its launch in 2007, HSBC Junior has been jointly supervised by the China Golf Association, HSBC Bank, The R & A, and Weimei China. It has accompanied a large number of outstanding players represented by Yin Ruoning, Lin Xiyu, Yuan Yechun, and Li Haotong into the professional arena, and has also witnessed the continuous growth of many new players.
Among them, The R & A will continue to serve as a partner of HSBC Youth from 2024 to 2025, and continue to promote golf in China by actively promoting the popularity of golf, such as supporting city training camps and campus programs, and providing more opportunities for young players to participate in overseas activities, such as the British Youth Open.
In addition, at the beginning of this season, we also welcomed our new partner Desante Children as the official clothing sponsor. HSBC Youth will work with Desante Children to bring players new event clothing that is both professional and functional. The new event clothing continues and develops the professional technology of Desante brand waterproof and breathable, warm and cool fabrics, and adopts a more childlike design language, combined with the physical development characteristics of Chinese children to develop version technology. Desante Children hopes to bring a better sports experience to the youth group, so that they can enjoy the fun of sports. And this is in line with HSBC Youth's core value of creating high-standard and high-quality youth events to help young players "meet new possibilities". From 2024 to 2025, HSBC Junior will work with Desante Children to provide professional and high-quality event clothing for young players, and witness the growth and progress of more rising stars in the HSBC Junior Arena!
