Schneider Electric: Create a new business card of China's wind power "going to sea" with green products

In recent years, the demand for wind power in overseas markets has been increasing. Statistics from the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) show that the compound annual growth rate of new wind power in overseas markets from 2023 to 2027 has reached 15%. The increasing demand and rapid growth of the market have provided new opportunities for China's wind power industry to "go global", which has crossed from "follow" to "lead".

However, with the promulgation of a series of green New Deals such as the EU carbon Tariff (CBAM) and the EU Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP), product sustainability has become the norm for European enterprises to produce, and Chinese wind power enterprises must pass the test of policies and regulations on the green sustainability of products in overseas markets if they want to "go global". Yao Yuan believes that systematic planning and improving the green and sustainable attributes of products through ecological design is the key to solving the problem, but at present, ecological design still faces the dilemma of not being able to establish an effective connection between relevant goals, indicators, schemes and evaluations.

As a long-term practitioner and enabler of sustainable development, Schneider Electric has always emphasized the innovative concept of full life cycle carbon reduction, and injected green genes into its full life cycle at the planning stage of product design. As early as 2008, Schneider Electric independently designed and developed the Green Premium product eco-label, introduced environmental and ecological concepts into the entire life cycle management of products and continued to develop, and has formed a relatively complete green and low-carbon design product system, which can provide excellent green products for wind power industry users. In particular, since 2019, the Global Green and Energy Saving Design Center has been settled in Xi 'an, China, which has greatly enhanced Schneider Electric's sustainable development ability starting from green design.

Introduction of Yao Yuan: "Based on the demand for green products in various industries, including the wind power industry, Schneider Electric has adopted the three green design directions of 'energy-saving low-carbon design', 'resource recycling design' and 'environmentally friendly design'. It can help users realize the five sustainable values of 'product environmental compliance', 'transparent environmental footprint', 'energy-saving and low-carbon products',' efficient use of resources' and 'product health and safety'."

Taking the new generation of air circuit breakers as an example, Schneider Electric has achieved 100% environmental compliance and a renewable utilization rate of up to 75% through a resource-recycling design. In terms of product structure design, the vertical design of the chuck can effectively reduce the carbon footprint by 30%. It is these eco-design highlights that make this new generation of air circuit breaker products not only successfully obtained the Schneider Electric Green Premium eco-label, but also will soon obtain the product carbon footprint certification granted by CQC.

In addition to green products, Schneider Electric is also committed to continue to empower industry users with innovative service models for green development. Introduction of Yao Yuan: "Green and low-carbon product innovation, green and low-carbon system integrity and green and low-carbon model replicability are the three directions that Schneider Electric Global Eco-Design Center continues to empower users.
