Beijing, February 26, 2024 - The Nanshan Amateur Cat Jumping Competition is the first official "cat jumping" (freestyle skiing moguls) competitive competition in the history of skiing in China, which was initiated in 2008 by Dr. Lu Jian, founder of Nanshan Ski Resort. The 15th Nanshan Amateur Cat Ski Jumping Competition & Pairs Competition was successfully held on February 17, 2024 (Saturday) at Nanshan Ski Resort in Miyun, Beijing.
The event was sponsored by ELAN, Chinese Champions, SWANS, ERGOGRIP, SINANO, NNOUM, PICTURE, SMITH, MONS ROYALE, and special thanks to the Russian Selegsh Ski Resort for providing a free 5-day ski exchange trip to Russia for the traditional male and female champions.
The competition has nearly 80 players registered to participate, after the level of the organizing committee of the event review, a total of more than 60 players who meet the requirements to participate in the competition. Participants ranging in age from 6 to 51 years old, from Beijing, China, Hong Kong and other places as well as Japan contestants registered, gathered together in Nanshan, came to the "mushroom field" with love, mutual exchange, meet the challenge!
It is worth mentioning that after recent years of training Nanshan "cat second generation" has begun to take shape, this event has nearly 20 young players through the audit to participate in the competition, can be described as a "young cat ski jumping Mini World Cup"!
The competition rules of this event are based on the rules of the freestyle skiing moguls competition Committee of the International Ski Federation (FIS), and according to the characteristics of Beijing Miyun Nanshan Ski Resort and the technical level of amateur "cat jumping" skiers in China, aiming to promote the Chinese folk "cat jumping" (freestyle skiing moguls) sport. Make every effort to create China's folk high standard, high specification, high level of "cat jump" ski competition. At the same time, Li Nan, a former member of the Chinese National team, was invited to serve as the chief referee and slalom scoring judge of the event, and Wang Jin, a former member of the Chinese National team, and Yang Fengyin, a former member of the Chinese National Youth team, were also invited to serve as the referee of the event.
This event is divided into traditional and dual match, set up traditional adult, youth group and dual match adult group; The judges were awarded points based on turning skills, aerial skills and sliding speed. In the traditional competition, the pre-finalists and finalists of the adult group have 2 rounds of sliding opportunities, and the top 6 of the men's group and the top 6 of the women's group will be determined. The youth group directly determines the top 3 of the male and female groups by 12 into 6, 6 into 3, and 3 into 1.
The double match adopts the voting elimination system, which consists of 2 players competing on the same court. The players randomly assign the opposing players through the way of drawing lots on the spot, and finally decide 1 male champion and 1 female champion.
In the end, after fierce competition, No. 32 Miao Xinyu won the champion of the traditional adult women's group with 71.5102 points, No. 36 Wei Yi won 71.283 points and No. 31 Wang Qian won the second and third places; No. 34 Ye Tong, No. 30 Tong Tingting and No. 38 Tan Xiaoyu won the fourth, fifth and sixth places respectively.
In the traditional men's group, No. 51 Yida Kinoshita from Japan won the champion of the traditional men's group with 84.18 points, No. 64 Jin Fei and No. 54 Sun Zazzheng won the second and third places respectively. No. 60 Zhang Lingtian, No. 62 Cui Yecheng and No. 56 Konno Shigue won the fourth, fifth and sixth places respectively.
In the traditional girls' group, Xu Longyue, who is only 10 years old, won the champion, Wang Muxi, who is 7, and Zhao Jingzhi, who is 4, won the second and third place respectively. In the young men's category, Li Chenxi, born in 2013, won the championship before 25; Ye Yishan, 23, and Li Ou, 21, tied for second place; and Wang Muye, 26, took third place.
In order to encourage and drive more young people to actively participate in the "cat jump" ski sports, for Beijing and China's freestyle sports to discover, cultivate and reserve outstanding talents, this event will award outstanding young "Cat Jump" skaters certificate and prizes to each participating young players. For the first time, on-site draw was used to randomly assign opposing players, which greatly increased the unknown of the competition, which was a big challenge to the players' competition psychology. Finally, through fierce confrontation, Xu Na, No. 37 player from Inner Mongolia, China, won the champion of the women's group of the double match. Zhang Lingtian, No. 60 player from Beijing, China, won the champion of the men's group of the pairs competition.
