After analyzing the current situation and confusion of parenting, Ms. Chen naturally moved on to the next topic: being a happy parent and establishing a good parent-child relationship. Mr. Chen gave parents a detailed analysis of the three positions of happy parents: sometimes in front, sometimes in the back, sometimes around. Then it tells the four principles of parent-child relationship: relationship over education (understanding), method over content (respect), growth over achievement (hope), effect over rules (flexibility).
In order to let parents more profound understanding of the daily dialogue atmosphere with their children, Mr. Chen specially invited two parents to do a simulated parent-child dialogue exercise. One plays the mother, one plays the 10-year-old. The mother communicates with the child by scolding and gently encouraging language, and the parents who play the role of the child also share their feelings about the different ways of speaking. The exercise was vivid and left a deep impression on the parents.
Chen uses this exercise to lead to the next topic: how to be a wise parent. Ms. Chen has diversified teaching methods, including exercises, videos and theories.
