Hyundai Motor, with its most cutting-edge product lineup, demonstrated its greatest sincerity towards the Chinese market. Its leading technology and brand hard power shone brightly at this year's China International Import Expo. Among the many Chinese exhibitors, the Hyundai Motor booth became one of the most eye-catching booths on the spot. It attracted a continuous stream of visitors and became a major highlight of this exhibition.
Amid the global wave of automotive industry transformation, China, with its dual identity as the world's largest market for new energy vehicles and the most dynamic innovation testing ground, is leading the direction of transformation towards new energy and intelligence. Driven by the deepening of the "dual carbon" goals and the technological upgrading of the entire industrial chain, the industry has entered a new stage of development centered on user scenarios and featuring multiple technological routes in parallel. At present, the Chinese electric vehicle market has fully shifted from "policy-driven" to "market-driven", and consumers have put forward higher requirements for product performance, intelligent technology and quality standards.
At this year's China International Import Expo, Hyundai Motor responded to the changes in the Chinese market with a brand-new product matrix, presenting the EO(E-Ou), the first pure electric SUV of Beijing Hyundai based on the global electric modular platform (E-GMP). EO (Yiou) not only sets the tone for Hyundai Motor's product matrix of "building trust through quality and competitiveness through value", but also opens a brand-new chapter in Beijing Hyundai's new energy journey. As the starting point of Beijing Hyundai's entry into the new energy era, Beijing Hyundai has positioned the Yiou as a "new quality and power pure electric SUV". Its development follows the core path of "global quality + Chinese technology", continuing global quality standards and optimizing locally in combination with the usage scenarios of Chinese users. Based on this car-making concept, Yiou offers users six quality dimensions: "safety, driving and riding, technology, durability, intelligence, and life empowerment", covering all details throughout the entire vehicle usage cycle. This enables 150,000-yuan pure electric SUVs to no longer be limited to "basic commuting", but to bring Chinese consumers a "high-quality" pure electric option. This model, with a CLTC range of over 700 kilometers and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip as its core highlights, marks Hyundai Motor's entry into a stage of in-depth localization in China's electrification market. Visitors can experience this strategic model on the spot and feel its product strength.
Furthermore, against the backdrop of China's "dual carbon" goals of peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060, hydrogen energy has become an inevitable choice for the strategic transformation of the energy structure. Hyundai Motor is participating in China's energy transition with a full-ecosystem layout. Under the macro strategy of the green transformation of the energy structure, China is actively building a hydrogen energy industrial system covering "production - storage - transportation - application", and commercial vehicles and special-purpose vehicles have become the key scenarios for the commercialization of hydrogen fuel cells. Relying on its hydrogen energy research and development accumulation that began in 1998, Hyundai Motor, with "HTWO Guangzhou" as its base, is promoting the localization of the entire chain from R&D, production to multi-scenario demonstration operations. From the hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicle NEXO to the logistics and sanitation vehicles that have been put into demonstration operation in Guangzhou, Hyundai Motor has not only demonstrated its technological advantages in fuel cells, but also deeply participated in the construction of the regional hydrogen energy ecosystem in China through the large-scale application of vehicles, providing a replicable business model for the realization of a "hydrogen energy society".
At this year's China International Import Expo, Hyundai Motor showcased its systematic capabilities in the hydrogen energy field. The newly upgraded hydrogen fuel cell system has achieved comprehensive breakthroughs in power, low-temperature adaptability and hydrogen storage capacity, forming the cornerstone of its technological leadership. The XCIENT hydrogen fuel cell tractor, built around this core, with a high rated power of 200kW, a system efficiency of 63.4% and a large-capacity hydrogen storage system, ensures the vehicle's outstanding reliability and zero-emission benefits, providing a benchmark green solution for long-distance trunk logistics. This move not only showcases the latest achievements in the field of hydrogen energy, but also clearly conveys Hyundai Motor's strategic ambition and execution ability to build a complete hydrogen energy industry chain ecosystem in China.
Meanwhile, at this year's China International Import Expo, Hyundai Motor also showcased high-performance N brand products, including the IONIQ 5N equipped with DK limited Edition performance kits and the Elantra N TCR Edition, which was launched at the end of September. Among them, the IONIQ 5 N DK limited edition performance kit was jointly developed by Keiichi Tsuchiya, the prototype of the protagonist Takumi Fujiwara in "Initial D", the "Drift King", and the N brand of Hyundai Motor. It has undergone strict tuning and testing on well-known Japanese racetracks and mountain roads, achieving a perfect combination of performance and design. It features 21-inch lightweight forged wheels, exclusive lightweight wide-body wheel arches, 6-piston integrated calipers, custom-developed high-performance short springs, carbon fiber front lips, carbon fiber side skirts, carbon fiber rear diffusers, carbon fiber gooseneck rear spoilers, etc., enhancing the vehicle's stability and dynamic performance. It perfectly interprets the essence of high-performance driving control in the era of electrification and the driving pleasure of the new era.
The Elantra N TCR Edition is built on the Elantra N and integrates the top-notch track technology of the Hyundai Motor N brand in the TCR World Tour, inheriting the championship genes of the Elantra N TCR racing car. Not only does it feature a sporty exterior design, but it also offers more agile handling and pure driving pleasure, making it a highly memorable model.
Both of these products are representative of Hyundai Motor's high-performance development. While perfectly interpreting the brand concept of "Never just drive - no fun, no driving", it also develops and builds the high-performance automotive sports culture in China.
Not only that, the new generation of the imported flagship SUV Palisade was also on display at the same stage. It is equipped with the new generation 2.5T hybrid system independently developed by Hyundai Motor. This advanced system, featuring a "P1+P2" dual-motor parallel structure, achieves a perfect balance between power and efficiency, delivering a combined maximum output power of 334 horsepower, a WLTC combined fuel consumption of 6.97 liters per 100 kilometers, and a combined driving range of over 1,000 kilometers.
