/PRZWT/Recently, 300 alcohol-hydrogen electric buses have been put into operation in Harbin, covering multiple routes such as Route 12, Route 116, and Route 343. With green and environmentally friendly power and intelligent and considerate design, they bring higher-quality public transportation services to the citizens of the ice City.
To actively and steadily promote the high-quality development of the automotive industry, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Heilongjiang Province jointly issued the "Several Policy Measures for the Promotion and Application of Methanol Vehicles (Draft for Comment)". The policy points out that it is necessary to actively explore effective paths for the promotion and application of clean energy vehicles suitable for low-temperature and cold regions, and increase the promotion and application of methanol vehicles in pilot cities. Up to now, alcohol-hydrogen electric buses have been put into large-scale operation in many northern cities across the country, such as Harbin, Daqing, Tianjin and Baishan. With its comprehensive advantages such as operational stability, economy and rapid energy replenishment in extremely cold environments, alcohol-hydrogen electric buses are gradually becoming a powerful engine driving the development of green transportation in the northern cold regions.
Original and self-developed solutions to the operational pain points in cold regions
The winter in the northern cold regions is long and the temperature is extremely low, which poses a severe challenge to the driving range, low-temperature start-up, heating guarantee, battery performance and maintenance cost of new energy buses. Alcohol-hydrogen electric buses have carried out in-depth technological development in response to these pain points, forming a unique competitive advantage.
This vehicle adopts the world's first alcohol-hydrogen electric technology and is equipped with a self-developed methanol engine, demonstrating extremely stable performance in extremely cold environments. Compared with diesel vehicles of the same level, the fuel cost is significantly reduced under the same driving range, and it is more environmentally friendly and green. Measured data shows that in the harsh environment of minus 25 degrees Celsius in the north, the range of alcohol-hydrogen electric buses can still be maintained at over 600 kilometers, which is more than double that of pure electric buses under the same working conditions. The refueling time only takes 7 to 10 minutes, greatly ensuring the operational efficiency in cold regions. Meanwhile, the vehicle can continuously maintain the heating system during operation, keeping the interior temperature stable between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. Compared with pure electric models of the same meter range, the interior temperature in winter is approximately twice as high, significantly enhancing passengers' comfort during cold weather.
The market for economical and energy-saving alcohol-hydrogen electric buses is selling well
In addition to its stable adaptability to cold regions, alcohol-hydrogen electric buses also demonstrate significant economic advantages when operating in low-temperature environments. Operational measurement data shows that this model can save an additional 0.2 yuan per kilometer compared to pure electric buses. Based on an 8-year full life cycle of a bus, a single vehicle can cumulatively save approximately 180,000 yuan in operating costs, demonstrating outstanding energy-saving benefits.
Since its listing, alcohol-hydrogen electric buses have been put into operation in over 1,700 units in many cities across the country, thanks to their leading technologies of "no decline at low temperatures, more efficient energy replenishment, and all-scenario adaptability". The continuous purchases from both new and old customers not only strongly confirm the feasibility of alcohol-hydrogen electric technology but also directly drive the growth of the brand's sales.
In the increasingly fierce competition of the new energy bus market, Remote Star Bus ranked second in the industry in September with 532 insured units and a market share of 10.5%. This is a vivid demonstration that its advanced technology has won the trust of users and transformed into a market advantage.
With the in-depth advancement of China's "dual carbon" strategy, alcohol-hydrogen electric buses, with their comprehensive advantages of reliable and efficient operation at low temperatures, are bound to have broader application prospects and become an indispensable important force driving the green transformation of public transportation in the northern cold regions and even the whole country.
