/PRZWT/GUANGZHOU, November 22, 2024 - Wrist-mounted diving computer with a 3-inch color touch screen.
Backup lighting, gas integration, underwater preset message sending and other functions
Today, professional sports smart wearable brand Garmin announced the Descent X50i, its first large-size diving computer with a clear and bright 3-inch color touch display. Using SubWave submersible sonar technology, divers can use the Descent X50i to communicate in two directions underwater and monitor each other's cylinder residual pressure, depth, and distance to keep a close eye on each other when visibility is limited ². They can easily explore the deep sea with a backup light, 20 ATM water resistance rating, and waterproof metal buttons.
"Accurate data is critical whether scuba diving, cave diving or searching for shipwrecks. The new Descent X50i features a large, bright display and a 20 ATM water resistance rating that allows critical data to be clearly seen every time you explore the underwater landscape, making it an excellent choice for both technical and recreational divers". - Scoppen Lin, Deputy General Manager of Marketing and Business, Garmin Asia
Designed specifically for diving
The Descent X50i features a clear 3-inch colour display, making it easy to read more data at a glance. The easy-to-use touchscreen makes it easy to read the navigation map and prepare for your next adventure. For advanced diving, the Descent X50i is equipped with a sturdy sapphire mirror, waterproof metal buttons and spare lights, which can also illuminate the road ahead in low visibility waters. The wristband fits comfortably and securely on the wrist, and can be operated with one hand to remove and tighten, preventing slippage.
Explore deeper
Designed by professional divers, the Descent X50i is fully prepared for the next underwater expedition based on practical needs.
Gas integration: When paired with the Descent T2 sensor, the residual pressure of the gas cylinder can be tracked.
Monitor other divers: View cylinder residual pressure, depth, and distance for up to 8 divers using the Descent T2 cylinder sensor within a range of 10 meters.
Submarine sonar underwater communication: Using SubWave submarine sonar technology, it is possible to send preset messages to each other with submarine partners, with a transmission range of up to 30 meters ².
Global dive site information: Use built-in information on over 4,000 dive sites around the world to easily plan your next dive.
Dive depth curve: View the depth change curve in real time to better understand the locations that have been explored and how they will affect your decompression plan.
● Dynamic Dive Ascent Curve: Visualize the projected lift plan through the "Ascent Prediction" field, which will display the current TTS (Time to Reach the Surface). The graphed depth curve changes over time and is marked with decompression stays and gas switching points.
Diving Compass: Use a 3D diving compass to navigate above (and below) the water.
Useful app for divers
Divers can also navigate to more than 4,000 pre-set dive sites from around the world via built-in GPS, as well as surface GPS positioning to help track their entry and exit points. Back on land, the Garmin Dive App allows you to view dive logs, track gear, take notes, and share details. Keep track of every dive.
The Descent X50i is now available with an official suggested retail price of 12,800 yuan.
