/PRZWT/April 17, 2024 Beijing - On April 13, the 3rd China Mobile "Wutong Cup" Big Data Innovation Competition and Big Data Maker Marathon National Finals, hosted by China Mobile and co-organized by the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Peking University, came to a successful conclusion at Peking University. The Central Youth Development Department of the Communist Youth League and leading experts from Peking University and Xiamen University attended the scene. Gao Tongqing, deputy general manager of China Mobile, attended the competition and delivered a speech.
Gao Tongqing said that in order to deeply integrate into the national big data layout, deeply tap and release the huge potential of data elements, China Mobile launched the Wutong big data strategic brand, innovatively built the Wutong big data platform, and comprehensively built the "Wutong big data" product system, and continued to play the value of data elements at multiple levels; relying on Wutong big data to launch the Wutong · Honghu school-enterprise cooperation platform, and carry out all-round cooperation with many universities and scientific research institutes to build a new paradigm of digital technology industry-university-research integration; and strive to create the "Wutong Cup" big data innovation competition, fully tap outstanding young talents, incubate outstanding creative achievements, fully stimulate the vitality of digital and intellectual innovation, and promote data, computing power, and artificial intelligence to become new quality productivity.
"Wutong Cup" is the industry's largest big data professional competition for global college students. It has been successfully held for three consecutive sessions, and a total of thousands of outstanding young talents in the field of big data have been mined and trained. 384 outstanding talents have been awarded the China Mobile campus recruitment green pass card, which has created good conditions for China Mobile and even the industry to mine and introduce outstanding young talents.
Since the registration for this competition was launched in July 2023, a total of 2,221 teams from 630 colleges and universities at home and abroad have been attracted to sign up. The competition has specially set up a dual-track tutoring system of "enterprise mentor + on-campus mentor", opened a competition training camp, launched cutting-edge technology lectures, and supported young people to release their self-confidence and diverse vitality through the method of "promoting training through competition and promoting innovation through competition". After the provincial preliminary competition, provincial finals, track finals, popularity revival competition, and national finals, a number of creative and practical solutions have emerged, covering all aspects of social life such as digital intelligence villages, smart cultural tourism, smart medical care, and public safety, injecting new momentum into the innovation and development of big data.
At the finals, China Mobile released the "Wutong Honghu" big data young talent training plan and the textbook "Principles and Case Applications of Big Data Technology". In the future, China Mobile will bring together the strength of the industry, universities and all sectors of society based on the "Wutong Honghu" school-enterprise cooperation platform to jointly cultivate high-quality young big data talents, and help to strengthen and improve the digital economy talent base.
