It is reported that the TCL · 2024 Huizhou Marathon is the first municipal marathon held in Huizhou and one of the first marathon events held in Guangdong Province in the spring of 2024, attracting the attention of marathon runners across the country, including Hong Kong and Macau.
This year's Huizhou Marathon includes three events: a marathon (42.195 kilometers), a half marathon (21.0975 kilometers), and a fun run (about 6 kilometers), with a total of 12,000 people, including 3,000 marathons, 5,000 half marathons, and 4,000 mini runners.
Huizhou, located in the southeastern part of Guangdong Province, is one of the central cities in the Pearl River Delta region approved by the State Council. It is known as "Lingnan County" and "Hakka Overseas Chinese Capital". Huizhou has a long history and has an establishment history of more than 2,200 years. It was listed as a national historical and cultural city in 2015. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Su Shi lived in Huizhou for two years and seven months, leaving 587 poems, prose and prefaces, among which there is an ancient saying "300 lychees a day, never quit being a Lingnan person".
Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area, characterized by simple, elegant and deep and tortuous landscapes, is a scenic area with strong Lingnan landscape garden characteristics and is also one of the most beautiful urban ecological lakes in China.
