WENCHANG, Dec. 20, 2023 - The second edition of the 2023 Wenchang Aerospace Carnival, with its theme of "Chasing the Maple and the Moon to the Galaxy," drew tens of thousands of tourists from across the country to the Qishui Bay in Wenchang to witness the spectacular launch of the Long March 5 Yaoliu carrier rocket.
As a special event of Wenchang Aerospace Cultural Tourism, the 2nd Wenchang Aerospace Carnival attracted much attention during the preparation period. At the event site, food, aerospace elements and diverse forms of expression were integrated to bring tourists an unforgettable visual feast.
During the event, there were not only very unique delicacies for tourists to taste, but also a variety of manifestations such as colorful displays of aerospace elements, aerospace science lectures, and aerospace cultural performances. For example, the on-site photographers set up their seats early and waited for the precious moment of the rocket taking off; the students of Hainan Zhenshang Beauty Institute sang and danced to wish the event a complete success; the tourists took selfies and cheered for China's aerospace; and professional photographers recorded this historic moment with their cameras.
This time, the carnival also invited Academician Sun Gongling of the International Academy of Astronautics to bring a popular science feast of aerospace knowledge to the tourists. Academician Sun Gongling's "World Launch Site Overview" report allowed tourists to have a deeper understanding of aerospace technology.
As the official partner of the 2nd Wenchang Aerospace Carnival, Wang Jinying, CEO and Chief Principal of Hainan Maple Leaf Education Region, led teachers and students to attend the event and delivered a speech. Principal Wang has been deeply involved in the field of international education for more than 40 years. Under her leadership, Maple Leaf has made brilliant achievements in the field of international education in Hainan. The student representatives of the high school department of Hainan Maple Leaf International School provided a bilingual host for the Wenchang Aerospace Carnival in both Chinese and English. The students of Deng Yingchao's class in the junior high school performed the Chinese and English recitation program "Reading China", and the students of the primary school performed the opening dance "Dancing" Maple "Cloud". Academician Sun Gongling presented the students with the aerospace science certificate of Wenchang International Aerospace Science Camp and signed a group photo.
In addition, Wenchang Aerospace Carnival also had in-depth exchanges with a number of travel agencies and research institutions to jointly explore the development and opportunities of the aerospace research industry. On-site cooperation with more than 50 high-quality travel agencies and research institutions was reached to jointly establish the Wenchang Aerospace Cultural Tourism Industry Alliance to fundamentally improve the standardization and professionalism of the aerospace cultural tourism market and promote the excellent and orderly development of the industry. At the same time, Wenchang Aerospace Carnival also plans to jointly develop more aerospace merchandise products and cultural and creative gifts with Wenchang characteristics with the upstream and downstream of the aerospace cultural tourism industry chain to meet consumers' love and consumption enthusiasm for aerospace culture.
With the participation of tens of millions of self-media experts, the 2nd Wenchang Aerospace Carnival continued to expand the influence of the event through the integration and dissemination of various means. This event not only promoted the spirit of aerospace patriotism and conveyed the culture of aerospace patriotism, but also promoted the deep integration of aerospace science and technology with the sustainable development of new consumption in cultural tourism.
