At the Strawberry Festival, SF Express showcased the broad application prospects of drones in the field of agricultural product transportation. Through technology empowerment, SF Express has explored a "fresh-grabbing" model of Dandong strawberries, and used drones to participate in the "first kilometer" transportation of Dandong strawberries, thereby improving the picking efficiency and freshness of Dandong strawberries. This new method not only improves the picking efficiency and freshness, reduces losses, but also provides new ideas and directions for agricultural product transportation. SF Express uses drone technology to break through geographical restrictions, providing useful experience for the long-term development of Dandong strawberry industry and the transportation of agricultural products in other regions.
Overall improvement in transportation efficiency, achieving strawberry freedom in as little as 6 hours
This year, SF Express has comprehensively improved the overall transportation capacity of Dandong strawberries by adding all-cargo aircraft, optimizing network layout, enhancing carrying capacity and peak capacity. At the same time, SF Express and Shenfu Branch of Liaoning Expressway Operation and Management Co., Ltd. have reached a strategic cooperation to open a special green channel for agricultural products. The overall transportation capacity will be increased by more than 28%, and strawberry freedom can be achieved in as little as 6 hours.
In order to ensure the transportation demand for this year's strawberry season in Dandong, SF Express has added cargo aircraft from Dalian to Hangzhou and Shenzhen on the basis of the original four all-cargo aircraft, realizing the network layout of East China, South China, and Central and Western flows; 6 special aircraft can be dispatched in a single day, and the carrying capacity of the existing all-cargo aircraft has been increased to 48 tons. At the same time, SF Express has also cooperated with a number of airlines to reserve more than 300 tons of bulk aviation resources, with a peak capacity of more than 600 tons in a single day; the number of conventional transportation vehicles has increased to more than 240, and the number of cold chain transportation vehicles on the trunk line has also increased to 200 + trains; 5 new flows have been added on the high-speed rail line, and 6 trains have been carried.
Accurately predict delivery demand, optimize packaging, and enhance competitiveness
In the two months before the arrival of the strawberry season, SF Express began to carry out detailed planning for the overall strawberry transportation: accurately forecasting the volume of pieces, and accurately grasping the demand for strawberry delivery every week or even every day; at the same time, it went deep into the strawberry production area and set up a collection point in the field, making full use of the advantages of direct delivery from the origin, shortening the transportation time, and quickly responding to the needs of farmers; in addition, this year, it carried out a comprehensive optimization and upgrade of strawberry packaging. Through the implementation of standardization, upgrade plans, and tailor-made packaging auxiliary materials strategies, it aims to ensure the safety and efficiency of strawberries during transportation. This year, SF Express has prepared 12,000 square meters of special project space for Dandong strawberry season transportation, an increase of about 20% year-on-year, which can accommodate 36 cold chain trucks for loading and unloading at the same time. There is also 13,000 square meters of air operation space to provide services for strawberry transportation. In order to help customers optimize costs, SF Express has customized air and land transportation series service products for merchants and farmers in strawberry producing areas to meet different consumption scenarios and user requests.
