/PRCWT/Shanghai, October 23, 2023 - From October 20 to 21, the 2023 China 5G Development Conference hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was held in Shanghai. During the 5G Development Conference, the award ceremony of the 6th "Blooming Cup" 5G Application Solicitation Contest was held. The sixth "Blooming Cup" 5G Application contest with the theme of "5G Windsurfing, New engine of data and real integration" aims to further promote the extensive application of 5G to empower the transformation and development of economic and social industries, and promote the deep integration of digital economy and real economy.
Shanghai Mobile actively cooperated with vertical industry customers and industrial ecological partners to participate in this competition, and five 5G cooperation projects stood out from 45,700 projects in the country to enter the finals, and finally won two national awards, among which the "5G Enabling Baosteel fully connected Factory Collaborative Intelligent Manufacturing Project" won the national first prize. "State Grid 5G private network slicing + Distribution network Differential Protection and self-healing Project" won the national second prize. In this event, Shanghai Mobile has won a total of 28 awards, including 2 national awards and 5 first prizes in sub-competitions, and the quality and number of awards are the most in history, achieving a double leap.
The "5G Empowered Baosteel Fully Connected Factory Collaborative Intelligent Manufacturing Project", which won the national first prize, was jointly built by Shanghai Mobile United Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., LTD., and other units. Through the 5G empowered fully connected factory, the virtual and real situation awareness operation center was created based on N large application scenarios, and the centralized control system of "one line and one room" was established to realize the effective tracking of "vital signs" of the production line. The production line has a fully automatic rate of 98%, comprehensively improving the per capita tonnage of steel, calendar operation rate, and effectively reducing double carbon emissions.
The "State Grid 5G Private Network Slice + Distribution Network Differential Protection and Self-Healing Project", which won the national second prize, was jointly developed by Shanghai Mobile and State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company. The 10kV distribution network differential protection + self-healing system based on 5G communication solves the signal transmission problem between distribution network terminals through low-delay 5G communication. It can be applied to urban distribution networks with high power supply reliability requirements and difficult fibre channel installation. Based on 5G, it can realize fast and accurate fault location of distribution network lines and fast self-healing of non-fault areas, improve the reliability of power supply in the core area, and reduce the cost of construction, operation and maintenance.
To further promote the deep integration of 5G and vertical industries, Shanghai Mobile will continue to play its advantages in 5G infrastructure construction and 5G vertical industry cooperation, unite more industry customers and industry chain partners, promote the deep development and wide extension of 5G industry applications, accelerate the scale replication of 5G high-frequency and high-value application scenarios, and give play to the multiplier effect of "5G+".
