/PRCWT/Guangzhou, July 10, 2023——Subaru today announced the introduction of the new FORESTER, powered by a 2.5L horizontally opposed engine. The new car comes in two models: the 2.5i AWD Premium Edition EyeSight and the 2.5i AWD Flagship Edition EyeSight. Official guidance prices for the 2.5L model are expected to be officially released in September, with a traditional 2.0L version available.
The new FORESTER has an all-wheel-drive design with a 2.5L horizontally aligned 4-cylinder naturally ventilated engine that delivers 124kW / 169hp and 252nm of power, coupled with a CVT transmission and combined fuel consumption of 7.5L/100km at WLTP. The 2.0L model is still equipped with the current 2.0L hybrid system, which matches the CVT endless transmission.
The whole system is equipped with a Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system (Symmetrical AWD), which automatically adjusts the torque distribution of the front and rear axles according to the driving condition. All system standard X-MODE, ground clearance 220 mm, approach Angle 21.5 degrees, departure Angle 25.8 degrees, longitudinal passage Angle 21.5 degrees.
In terms of appearance, the new FORESTER follows the "BOLDER bold" design language, the three-dimensional "waist line" runs from the grille to the body, the front headlights and fog lights are separated into four corners, and the lower bumper guard plate is protruding forward, making the body line have the power sense of Benge SUV.
The 2.5i AWD Premium and 2.5i AWD Flagship EyeSight models have a black interior grille with 18-inch wheels below, and the rear spoiler and shark fins are blackened to give the new car a sporty look.
In addition, the new forest Man provides pearl gem black, crystal pearl white, shining eye ice silver, sky pearl blue, wild deep green 5 body colors to choose from, of which the wild Deep Green is the 2.5i AWD Premium edition EyeSight and 2.5i AWD flagship edition EyeSight model exclusive color.
In terms of interior, the new FORESTER Forester comes standard with an 8-inch center display that can display online maps and real-time road conditions via Wi-Fi, and it also integrates Baidu CarLife smartphone connectivity and WeLink function (the relevant software needs to be pre-installed on the phone). In addition to the 2.0iAWD Deluxe models, the top of the center control screen is equipped with advanced multi-function color displays that display real-time vehicle information (such as air conditioning and fuel consumption), and the layout is designed to minimize the driver's eye movement while driving.
In terms of seats, the new FORESTER Forester all series comes with 8-direction electric adjustable leather seats as standard, all series comes with front seat heating as standard, and the 2.5i AWD Premium EyeSight also comes with rear seat heating.
In terms of safety configuration, the new FORESTER is equipped with EyeSight driver assistance system and binocular stereo camera, which supports anti-collision braking, emergency automatic steering assistance, full-speed adaptive cruise, lane centering/front car following steering, start throttle misoperation prevention, lane departure correction assistance and alarm warning. The flagship EyeSight also has a DMS driver monitoring system.
