GPD officially announced that they will begin public testing the new WIN 4 (2023) version handheld next week. This handheld device is equipped with powerful hardware and multiple innovative designs, aiming to provide a better gaming experience.

Firstly, in terms of configuration, WIN 4 (2023) will provide AMD R7 7840U and AMD R5 7640U versions to meet the needs of different users. At the same time, the memory has been upgraded to LPDDR5x 7500 MT/s, divided into three versions: 16GB/32GB/64GB, making the handheld device smoother when processing large amounts of data. The SSD is fully upgraded to PCIe Gen 4. The brand is still Baiwei, Yangtze Memory Technologies Granules, and high-capacity TLC. There will be three versions of 512GB/2TB/4TB, so that users can read and write data faster.

In addition, to support the GPD G1 graphics dock, the USB A port on the top of WIN 4 has been changed to Oculink (SFF-8612). The Oculink port is a deformed PCIe 4 × 4 interfaces, able to directly connect to the graphics card dock, providing an effective bandwidth of 63Gbps, making the handheld's scalability even more powerful.

Previous reports have shown that the GPD WIN 4 handheld is available for sale with an R7 6800U processor, and the 16GB+512GB version is priced at 5999 yuan. However, the specific price may vary depending on factors such as region, channel, and sales strategy, and users can choose according to their own needs.

In terms of screen, GPD WIN 4 adopts a 6-inch eye protection screen with 1080P resolution and 368PPI, covering the 5th generation Corning Gorilla Glass, and supporting two Refresh rate of 60Hz and 40Hz. This screen configuration can provide clear and smooth visual effects, allowing users to have a better visual experience in the game.

In terms of design, the GPD WIN 4 handheld has undergone multiple optimizations and innovations. The two ends of the body draw inspiration from the arc design of the PSP, which disperses the force during gripping. The grip center adopts a protruding design, which conforms to ergonomics. Fingerprint recognition has been moved to the left, and an optical finger mouse from earlier Pocket 2 has been added to the right, which supports pressing down on "Enter" to avoid repeatedly adjusting the "handle/mouse" switch. In addition, 6-axis gyroscope support has been added, making it possible to play physical games as well. The rocker returns to the traditional staggered layout, with the rocker cap divided into a skirt and a hood, which can clamp onto the skirt to prevent it from falling off easily. The keyboard returns to the traditional pot shaped button, retaining backlight while adjusting brightness and turning it off. Dual Type C ports allow for charging while connecting the monitor. The shoulder button adds a colorful dazzling light effect, which can be switched between multiple modes, adding a stylish and personalized element to the handheld.

Overall, the GPD WIN 4 (2023) handheld has been upgraded and innovated in terms of configuration, performance, and design, providing users with a better gaming experience. For friends who love games, this handheld device is worth a try.
