Guangzhou, August 26, 2022 -- Cuaiduo, a brand of Unilever and Lu Xue Ice Cream, has been selected by Alibaba as a low-carbon friendly brand and launched a "carbon reduction friendly action" with 19 companies in the consumer sector. The selected product is the soybean protein ice cream cone newly launched this year. In addition to using green and healthy vegetable soybean protein in raw materials, the paper packaging of the product uses FSC-certified packaging materials to ensure that the materials come from sustainable, legal and permitted forest resources, leading the new fashion of life with health and low carbon.

Sustainable development of the whole link from raw material procurement, production to product marketing

As one of the leading enterprises in the ice cream industry, Heluxue actively implements the carbon reduction target, protects the ecological environment, and constantly contributes to promoting sustainable development. In recent years, Heluxue has carried out a number of important practical actions in the aspect of low-carbon environmental protection, covering raw material procurement, production, product research and development, marketing and other links.

The Helu Snow Taicang Factory, which was put into operation at the end of March this year, is a good example of the production link. The factory has been certified as a "beacon factory" on behalf of digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Compared with traditional factories, it can effectively reduce carbon emissions by 83% and energy and water consumption by 14% at the production source. This is thanks to the Lighthouse Factory's AI model, flexible production lines, digital innovation tools, and automated production lines without the lights on. At the same time, in terms of energy, the Heluxue "Lighthouse Factory" adopts green electricity and uses clean energy such as wind and solar energy as the main power source to help achieve the goal of carbon neutrality in production.

In addition to practicing the concept of environmental protection and low carbon at the production source, Heluxue uses innovative technologies to optimize and reduce the use of plastics in the research and development of products and packaging, which helps the sustainable development of the industrial chain. PS material is a widely used plastic on ice cream packaging, it has low temperature non-cracking, easy to form the characteristics. In response to the call for sustainable development, Heluxue has been seeking and developing more widely recycled PET replacement PS since 2019. On the basis of not affecting the appearance of the original design and not reducing the quality requirements, after several rounds of testing and optimization of the design of abrasive tools, after nearly 1 year's efforts, smoothly switched to recyclable PET material, reducing the application of PS plastic. In addition, the outer packaging of the home packaging of Cuaidobang products has been changed from the original plastic bracket + plastic wrap to the carton packaging (the paper comes from FSC sustainable certification source, and uses lotus effect glossy oil, instead of the industry's common coated paper packaging). Through such environmental design, the plastic usage of Cuaidobang home decoration products has been reduced by 91%. The above cases are selected as cases of CGF gold design criteria.

Similarly, in terms of marketing, we will create a "low-carbon marketing" scene with Lu Xue. In April this year, Xiaohe Lu Xue, a subsidiary brand of Lu Xue, and Ant Forest and Yunnan Green Environment Development Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "Green Foundation") will jointly carry out a public welfare project on biodiversity protection. By providing interesting AR virtual technology to identify rare animals and supporting relevant ecological restoration work with loving donations, Xiaohe and Lu Xue also donated 1 million yuan to the Green Foundation for the restoration project of biodiversity ecological corridor.
