On June 11th, "2016 Guangdong (International) Wind Music Series Activities - and 2016 Feifan Cup Shenzhen Longgang 3rd Invitational Symphony Orchestra Team Competition" was held in Longgang District Cultural Center Grand Theatre. The Pipe Band of Kwai Chung Central Primary School in Dapeng New District stood out among many competitors and won the gold medal.
The invitational competition was organized by Guangdong Wind Music Association. It was divided into two groups: student group and social group. More than 20 teams from all over the country competed for various awards. The songs of Kwai Chung Central Primary School were "Train Round Up" and "Falandora". The young musicians demonstrated their dream of pursuing the art of wind music with their superb skills. Many of the audience were the parents of the students performing on the stage. They said that it was very rare and beneficial for their children to participate in such a high-level competition and enjoy the high-level performance at their home.
Kwai Chung Central Primary School Pipe Band was established in 2015 with over 60 members. The orchestra is committed to cultivating the comprehensive development quality of its members. Under the care of leaders at all levels and the support of parents and teachers, the orchestra achieves both cultural and specialty learning. The band hopes to improve its members' quality, cultivate mutual assistance awareness, and more importantly, develop a broad vision to look at people and things around them, and form a correct social outlook and outlook on life with the concept of harmony and integration through the ordinary specialty learning and ensemble training.
Confidence, pride and team glory belong to everyone of Kwai Chung Central Primary School Pipe Band. They will continue to run and chase for their dream of wind music art, and strive to build themselves into an excellent team in practice.
