First in the Industry! Haier's Large HVAC Breaks Through Plateau Challenges to Provide Heating in Tibet

However, coexisting with this is the harsh natural environment - extreme cold, low pressure, lack of oxygen, and large temperature differences... This place has also become a "technical no-go area" for the HVAC industry, making clean heating a major challenge.

As of October 2025, heating coverage for farmers and herdsmen at an altitude of over 5,000 meters has been fully achieved, effectively ensuring that people in the plateau region can enjoy a clean, convenient, and warm winter.

On January 10th, as one of the first enterprises to participate in the pilot project of clean heating in Xizang, Haier Large Heating and Ventilation held a customer summit on clean energy smart heating, sharing its practical achievements and providing technical references for the industry. In the applications in Linzhou County and Qusong County, Haier Large Heating and Ventilation, relying on its comprehensive strength ranking first in 8 major categories including air conditioners, heat pumps, and solar energy, with the core of solar thermal heating, air source heat pump heating, and integrated energy management platform, has achieved the leadership from a single product to an integrated solution.

Moreover, the extreme conditions of the plateau made the traditional solutions "inapplicable", making the promotion of clean heating difficult.

In Linzhou County of Lhasa, Haier Large HVAC has 121 air-source heat pumps as the core to establish an integrated "investment - construction - operation" franchise project, achieving clean heating for 233,600 square meters in the entire county with a constant room temperature above 22℃, and achieving a 30% energy-saving effect. In Qusheng County of Shannan, a new multi-energy complementary model of "solar energy + air-source heat pump" was innovatively adopted. When there is sufficient sunlight, solar energy is utilized first, and when it's cloudy or at night, the heat pump takes over to ensure stable heating at a lower cost.

Through customized ultra-low-temperature heat pumps and AI multi-split systems, they achieve reliable heating at -35℃ and a comprehensive energy saving of over 50%.

Furthermore, intelligent management is crucial for ensuring the efficient and economical operation of the large-scale heating system. Haier Large HVAC has deployed an integrated energy management platform for the project, which enables remote control, intelligent management, and abnormal warning for the entire heating system. It can also automatically adapt to the variable climate of the plateau through intelligent regulation methods such as climate compensation algorithms, achieving a transition from relying on manual inspections to "unmanned" intelligent operation, significantly improving the operation efficiency and stability.

Each heating season can reduce coal consumption by 3.06 million tons, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 8.28 million tons, equivalent to planting 2.52 million square meters of trees. Haier Large Heating and Cooling is using technological power to firmly establish clean warmth on the roof of the world.
