Recently, Hankook Tire officially announced that it has successfully started mass production of ISCC + certified electric vehicle (EV) summer tires, the iON evo, at its advanced manufacturing facility in Racalmas, Hungary. This tire integrates the performance of racing-grade tires while using 45% sustainable materials, marking another breakthrough in the field of environmental protection for Hankook Tire.
As Hankook Tire's carefully crafted masterpiece for the high-end electric vehicle market, one of the highlights of the iON evo tire is that it contains up to 45% sustainable materials, which is rare in the whole industry. It is understood that the sustainable materials used in the tire include bio-based silica derived from grain waste, PET fabric cord recycled from plastic waste, rubber synthesized from bio-recycled raw materials, carbon black recycled from waste tires, and natural resins. Each material choice reflects Hankook Tire's deep commitment to environmental protection.
