Guangzhou, January 26, 2024 - Recently, the "Spring is Blessed in Guangdong" Jiachen Year of the Dragon, co-organized by Guangdong Provincial Zhongshan Library and Guangdong Couplet Association, and co-organized by Dongguan Guanyin Mountain National Forest Park, was held at the Provincial Zhongshan Library Plaza. On the same day, the Provincial Zhongshan Library Exhibition Hall also launched the "Spring is Blessed in Guangdong" Jiachen Year of the Dragon Hundred Lions Welcome Spring United Ink Exhibition. The event site attracted many surrounding citizens and students waiting in long queues, just to receive the Chinese New Year-style blessing stickers and couplets written by calligraphers on the spot when the Spring Festival came. The scene was lively and full of festive atmosphere.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Zou Jihai, deputy director of the Advisory Committee of the Chinese Couplets Society, former president of the Guangdong Couplets Society, and winner of the "Liang Zhangju" award, the highest award in the Chinese couplet industry, said in his speech that the "Jiachen Year of the Dragon Welcome to Spring and Send Blessings" activity is an activity of the Guangdong Couplets Society. Since 2017, the Guangdong Couplets Society has held spring and send blessings here for 8 consecutive years. In 2018, the Lianmo Exhibition has been held here, so that our traditional couplet culture and Spring Festival culture can be inherited and carried forward, and the Spring Festival couplets, the word blessing, and joy are sent to the general public. Zou Jihai mentioned that today is a joyous day. The Guangdong Couplet Society has invited calligraphers and old leaders from many departments in the province to participate in the activity of sending blessings. Citizens can get couplets and blessing written by famous artists for free, and they can also watch hundreds of award-winning Spring Festival couplets written by hundreds of calligraphers to feel the charm of couplet calligraphy.
At the scene of the event, nearly 20 couplet calligraphers splashed ink and wielded the word Fu for the citizens to write the Spring Festival couplets and the word Fu for the citizens. The citizens said one after another that the handwritten Spring Festival couplets are more New Year's flavor. According to incomplete statistics, more than 200 pairs of Spring Festival couplets were sent out in this event, with nearly 600 words Fu. During the writing process, the calligraphers kindly explained the couplet knowledge to the citizens from time to time, and at the request of the citizens, they held the photo of Huichun as a souvenir. The atmosphere at the scene was very active, filled with joy in the Year of the Dragon.
In addition, on the day of the event, the "Spring is Blessed in Guangdong" Jiachen Year of the Dragon Hundred Lions Welcome Spring United Ink Exhibition was also launched in the Exhibition Hall of the Provincial Zhongshan Library, which attracted many citizens to visit. It is reported that the works on display at this ink exhibition are 100 couplets that won awards in the "Guanyinshan Cup" Hundred Lions Celebrate Spring Contest Activity, as well as some Welcome Spring couplets, a total of 110 pairs, which were invited to be written by 100 calligraphers. In addition, the Hundred Pairs Welcome Spring United Ink Exhibition will be held from January 18, 2024 and will last until February 29, during which it will be open to the general public free of charge.
It is understood that in the past few months, the Guangdong Couplets Association and Dongguan Guanyin Mountain National Forest Park have jointly held the "Guanyin Mountain Cup" Bailian Hechun theme solicitation activity, which has received the response and support of couplets and friends from all over the country. More than 10,000 pairs of contributions have been received, integrating the beautiful vision of the new year with festive and peaceful words full of the atmosphere of the new era. After strict evaluation and publicity of the results by organized experts, the final announcement of the evaluation results: 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 6 third prizes, and 90 excellence awards. At this Lianmo Exhibition, the Guangdong Couplets Society carefully organized 100 calligraphers and special guests in the province to carefully write a total of 110 award-winning couplets and Yingchun couplets. The calligraphy works are splendid, brimming with the pride and desire of "singing the new era, forging ahead on a new journey", and the integration of ink and ink enhances the aesthetic value.
