/PRCWT/The Nanshan Free Skiing Open has been successfully held for seven times since its establishment in 2015. It is currently a high-level freestyle skiing slope obstacle skill event held by the Chinese people. The 8th Nanshan Free Skiing Open of Peak Performance was successfully held at the Nanshan Ski Resort in "Fashion Sports · Vitality Miyun" from January 13 to 14, 2024.
This year's event is organized by the Beijing Ski Association, Miyun District Sports Bureau, Miyun District Sports Federation, and undertaken by Beijing Miyun Nanshan Ski Resort. It is sponsored by the Nordic Swedish ski brand Peak Performance, with strong support from LINE, SMITH, SIDAS, and Free Zone. At the same time, experts from the Medical Committee of the Beijing Ski Association ensure the safety of the athletes throughout the event. This year's Nanshan Free Ski Open aims to promote the development of Freestyle Skiing in China, and strive to create a high-standard, high-standard and high-level Freestyle Skiing international event.
Nearly 100 domestic and foreign athletes participated in the event through social activation and video moderation. After selection, 52 high-level Freestyle Skiing athletes participated in the event. The age span of the competitors ranged from 9-year-old teenagers to 51-year-old adult skaters, and a total of 11 domestic players under the age of 14 participated in the competition.
This competition can be described as a gathering of experts. In addition to Fan Yutong, who won the national Freestyle Skiing slope obstacle skills men's championship for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019, Shen Sihan and Ding Xin, the women's champions of the 2019 and 2021 national Freestyle Skiing slope obstacle skills championship, and Ma Yusen, who just won the bronze medal of Freestyle Skiing slope obstacle skills in the 14th National Winter Games, more than 40 domestic high-level players, including VINCENT MAHARAVO, the Freestyle Skiing slope obstacle men's champion of the 2023 French Championship, and the women's runner-up AMELIE CANCEL, more than 10 world-class double-board freestyle players from Finland, France, Spain, Japan and Hong Kong, China, participated in the competition.
The event is divided into preliminaries and finals, with two categories: men's and women's. Each player in the preliminaries has two opportunities to enter the finals with the top 16 in the men's group and the top 8 in the women's group. After two days of intense competition, French player NATHAN THEBAUD won the men's championship of the 8th Nanshan Free Ski and Skis Open at Peak Performance by making the Right Double Rodeo 900 Bow Arrow and Switch Left 1080 Mute at the two jumps, and the Switch Right On Right 450 Out, Left 270 On and Front Flip On actions at the three sets of props. French player AMELIE CANCEL won the 8th Peak Performance with the Switch Right 540 Safety, Left 720 Tail and the Left On Left 450 Out, Left On Right 270 Out, Switch Right 180 On Right 180 Out and other actions made in the prop group. The strong players gathered in this competition, and the scores of the competitors were all very different. The men's group was runner-up by Finland's JOEL KRISTIAN LIIMATAINEN, and the French player VINCENT MAHARAVO won the third place. In the women's group, China's Ding Xin won the second place, and Japan's Kondo Ye Yin won the third place. In order to increase the attractiveness of the event and promote the development and popularization of Freestyle Skiing in China, Fan Yuli and Ding Xin won the titles of the best male and female skaters in the domestic group.
The award for the best female skater in China has greatly promoted the development of Freestyle Skiing in China through the holding of the event, stimulated the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of Chinese Freestyle Skiing fans, encouraged and motivated more young people to actively participate in Freestyle Skiing, and discovered, trained and stocked outstanding talents for the freestyle movement in Beijing and China.
