Shanghai, December 06, 2023 - In the hazy days of low visibility environment, driving can not see the surrounding situation, even equipped with a driver assistance system, the camera can not see through the haze ahead, prone to vehicle collision; The smart car equipped with liDAR, the light beam through the haze, forming a point cloud noise, misjudge as an obstacle, and tight brake leads to the rear-end accident.

Haze scenes are also one of the biggest difficulties in the application of Lidar.

In order to solve this problem, Lei Shen Intelligence independently developed a set of Lidar dust/rain fog filtering algorithm, the dust/rain fog characteristics and point cloud algorithm for a large number of comparative experimental calculations, with higher accuracy and robustness. While the dust/rain and fog point cloud is greatly reduced, it can also penetrate the thick dust/rain and fog, detect the rear target, solve the problem of sensing ability and detection accuracy of automatic driving in a haze environment, and improve travel safety.

This set of algorithms can be applied to any LiDAR, and has been tested and applied on the newly upgraded vehicle-level hybrid solid-state Lidar. The strong anti-environmental interference properties of the high-frequency laser make it have the characteristics of dust, rain and fog identification and filtering.

As shown in Figure 1-2, the LiDAR outputs high transmitting power and has a strong ability to penetrate the fog. When the fog is removed, the pedestrian body in the fog is still there and has not been removed, so as to reduce the impact brought by the fog.

In addition, this set of algorithms can also be applied to Terminator series 1550nm fiber optic vehicle measure Lidar, CX series 905nm vehicle measure hybrid solid state Lidar, multi-line mechanical Lidar and other equipment, to ensure that intelligent vehicles can also drive safely in harsh environments such as rain, fog and dust.

With the maturity and progress of the technical route, the LiDAR algorithm developed by Lei Shen intelligent is constantly upgraded and iterated, all-weather resistance to rain, fog and dust, to escort and provide strong technical support for automatic driving.
