/PRCWT/ Shanghai, September 12——Some time ago, Shanghai Unicom and ZTE jointly completed a number of key technical characteristics verification of the next generation optical access network 50GPON solution that meets ITU-T standards in the Future Network Laboratory, among which the optical protection function based on 50GPON is the first technical solution verification in the industry, and successfully verified the backbone light Key functional indicators such as fiber protection, high throughput and low latency meet test expectations.
In terms of high reliability, two independent 50GPON boards were used to test the backbone fiber protection function across the business board. The protection switchover and switchback times are both shorter than 50ms, which meets the requirements of carrier-class active/standby protection switchover. The successful certification of this technology demonstrates the technical support capability of 50GPON to carry the requirements of highly reliable business applications.
In terms of high bandwidth, according to the ITU-TG.9804 standard,5OGPON is 5 times higher than 10GPON, and can be compatible with multiple rates of access. The downstream and upstream throughput reaches 43Gbps and 21Gbps, respectively, and the performance of OLT and ONU prototypes is leading the industry.
In terms of low delay,5OGPON adopts the single-frame multi-burst low-delay technology newly defined by ITU-TG.9804 standard, and the average service delay is less than 100μs, which is 50% lower than the 10GPON delay.
PON technology will be integrated and unified in the 50GPON era, its wavelength planning and optical link decay are compatible with the existing network ODN, and support the smooth evolution from 10GPON network to 50GPON network, which is conducive to the long-term development of the industrial chain.
