/PRCWT/Guangzhou, July 25, 2023——Asus introduces the Pro WS W680M-ace SE motherboard for compact workstation users
Recently, Asus launched a new motherboard for compact workstation users - the Pro WS W680M-ace SE. The motherboard features Micro-ATX form elements and LGA 1700 slots, and supports Intel's 12/13th-generation Core processors.
Unlike the regular Intel LGA 1700 motherboard, the Pro WS W680M-ace SE uses the W680 chipset and is equipped with two ASpeed AST 2600 BMC controllers based on the Arm Cortex A7 core. One is the Cortex M3 and the other is a separate new 2D graphics chip for condition monitoring and remote control of computers.
The motherboard also offers a SlimSAS port through which users can connect up to four SATA hard drives, or one disk with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. However, Asus does not provide an adapter cable.
The new ASUS Pro WS W680M-ace SE motherboard is designed for workstations and fully supports ECC memory error correction technology. The motherboard is also equipped with two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots for inserting NVMe SSDS, as well as one PCIe 5.0 x16, one PCIe 4.0 x4, and one PCIe 3.0 x1 ports.
In terms of ports, the board supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports (10 Gbit/s), and has one DisplayPort and one HDMI port each, as well as two 2.5G network ports and one Gigabit network port.
Asus promises that the motherboard can operate reliably around the clock at an ambient temperature of 45 degrees Celsius and 80% relative humidity.
It is worth noting that Asus did not announce the price of the Pro WS W680M-ace SE motherboard, but the price of the full-size ATX motherboard Pro WS W680M-ace is $330 (about 2373 yuan), and it is expected that the price of the mATX version of the motherboard may be lower than this price.
Overall, the Asus Pro WS W680M-ace SE motherboard is a motherboard designed for compact workstations with a range of powerful features and interfaces to meet a wide range of professional needs. Although the price has not been announced, it is expected to be a very cost-effective product.
