On February 3, 2021, Etzow announced that its ColorEdge CG series self-calibrating displays won the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Science and Technology Award.
The academy's Science and Technology awards recognize individuals and companies who have made significant and long-term contributions to film through innovation. The Academy plans to hold an online Science and Technology Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 13, 2021, to recognize a total of 17 scientific and technological achievements. The awards will be announced at 1 p.m. Pacific Time on the Oscars website.
Etzol is proud to receive this prestigious award for the development of the ColorEdge CG series of hardware-calibrated displays with built-in calibration sensors. The main innovators and immediate winners behind the technology are Senior product Manager Masato Nakashima(Kento Nakajima), senior engineer Junji Sakuda(Junji Sakuda), chief engineer Koichi Ueno(Koichi Ueno), and Junro Yonemitsu(Yonemitsu).
Etzol's advanced integrated calibrated sensor technology is the result of extensive research and investment in a range of imaging solutions in the market, including healthcare. In 2005, Etzol introduced a medical display with built-in sensors that calibrate the screen and stabilize brightness to accurately display gray-scale radiology images. Since then, the company has continued to further develop this technology, launching ColorEdge CG245W in 2010, in order to become the first manufacturer in the world to bring to market a solution to automatically calibrate color accuracy. Etzol's advanced built-in sensor technology can be set to automatically calibrate, eliminating the need for third-party calibration equipment, while ensuring the screen remains colour-accurate. The sensor was developed and manufactured in our own factory, which is a good example of our passion and dedication to accurate imaging.
Many industries must use screens that perform reliably. In health care, doctors rely on accurate images to diagnose and treat patients. In creative fields such as film production, if technology can improve the efficiency of film production, editors and artists can devote more time and energy to polishing the plot.
Etzol's ColorEdge displays are relied upon by major studios around the world, bringing some of the most inspiring and exciting stories and experiences to audiences around the world.
