From September 4th to 6th, 2020, hosted by Software Engineering and Evaluation Center of China Institute of Electronic Standardization, organized by ITSS Data Center Operation Management Working Group (DCMG) and Two-state IT Alliance (BOA), co-organized by ITSS Media Group, the fourth 2020 two-State IT User Conference was held in Wuzhen.

With the theme of "Distributed Architecture Transformation of core system entering deep water", the conference gathered more than 400 information technology leaders, development and test leaders, operation and maintenance leaders, architects of financial, central enterprises, government, energy, power, education and medical and other industries, to discuss distributed architecture transformation and dual-state IT innovation and development.

As a domestic full-stack cloud native technology service provider, Huang Qigong, CEO of Speed Cloud, introduced the application and practice of service grid in the financial industry from three aspects: cloud native technology enabling IT architecture upgrade, service grid characteristics, and service grid landing cases.

The application of cloud native technology in the industry continues to deepen

With the gradual maturity of mobile Internet, big data, cloud computing and other technologies, the core banking system with centralized architecture based on mainframe technology faces increasing challenges in technical innovation, rapid delivery, cost control and other aspects. Cloud native technologies, represented by containers, micro-services and DevOps, have gradually become an important force for upgrading enterprise IT architecture because they can provide enterprises with higher agility, flexibility and portability between clouds.

According to the cloud computing development survey report of China Information and Communication Academy, in 2019, 43.9% of the surveyed enterprises said that they had deployed business applications using container technology, and 40.8% of the enterprises planned to deploy business applications using container technology. 28.9% of enterprises have already used microservices architecture for application system development, and another 46.8% plan to use it.

As a domestic cloud native technology service provider, Speed Cloud always adheres to the user demand-oriented, providing application-centered cloud native series products and solutions, including container cloud PaaS, micro services, DevOps, service grid, etc., to help enterprises achieve rapid delivery and continuous innovation of business applications. At present, Speed Cloud has served more than 300 enterprise customers in the fields of finance, energy, manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications and so on. The benchmark customers include: You Insurance, China Taiping Group, State Grid, China Southern Airlines, FAW Group, Daimler Benz, China Mobile, China Telecom and so on.

Service Grid, a much-anticipated service governance pattern

Since 2020, financial institutions such as China Construction Bank, Postal Savings Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, China Everbright Bank, PICC Property Insurance, Guotai Junan Securities, China Merchants Securities and other financial institutions have simultaneously started to transform the distributed architecture of the core system. By allowing infrastructure to provide professional and general capabilities, service grid has gradually become a highly anticipated service governance model in the process of digital transformation of the financial industry.

Service grid ServiceMesh refers to the software infrastructure layer that controls and monitors the internal service to service flow in micro-service applications. It usually includes the "data plane" of network agents deployed together with the application code, and the "control plane" that is responsible for interacting with these agents to ensure the reliability of requests between services.

The main innovation point of service grid is the decoupling of service governance capability and business development, so that developers can focus more on business development and innovation. At the same time, this non-intrusive governance model allows application developers to choose the most appropriate language; Iterative updating of governance capabilities can also be business-independent, helping to drive innovation in both directions.

In addition, the service grid also has the advantages of customization and improvement for actual enterprise scenarios, extended support for special communication protocols, smooth access and integration of various existing micro-service frameworks, access to virtual machine deployment services, continuous optimization of performance and so on.

Service grid technology is highly dependent on container PaaS platform technology based on Kuberenetes. Container ecological technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes promote the demand of service grid and the feasibility of its implementation, making complex systems easily deployed and managed.

Distributed support platform enables enterprise IT architecture upgrade

The financial industry is very demanding in terms of IT governance, business continuity, and IT security compliance. In the financial industry scenario, we might encounter:

1. In the marketing in the first quarter of the year (especially in the "good start" business scenario of the insurance industry), it is usually difficult to carry out the service level flow limiting control, resulting in excessive load of some systems.

2. In traditional service governance, the business topology cannot be viewed from an overall perspective, and the service invocation situation of each business component is a black box. The call link between services cannot be viewed, which makes it difficult to quickly locate problems when services fail.

3. Current micro-service frameworks mainly include SpringCloud, Dubbo, etc., which cannot realize unified governance of multi-frameworks and multi-services through platforms.

The increasing number of application scenarios, as well as the diversity and complexity of applications, have created a strong demand for distributed support platforms in enterprises. It is a distributed support platform based on service grid. Relying on its advantages in the container PaaS cloud platform, it integrates service governance capabilities such as service registration and discovery, traffic monitoring and intelligent routing, service circuit breaker, traffic limiting and degradation, fault simulation, gray scale release, security authentication and authentication into the bottom platform layer and seamlessly integrates with the PaaS platform. It realizes one-stop management of services from development, deployment, operation to governance.

Aiming at the diversity and complexity of enterprise internal applications, the speed Cloud distributed Service framework provides unified registration and governance of multiple service frameworks such as Spring Cloud, Dubbo and traditional Web Service, and supports various communication protocols such as HTTP, TCP, RPC and Bolt. As well as the custom protocol and protocol transformation function, support multi-project, cross-department project management by supporting multi-tenant. At the same time, IT can be deeply customized according to the enterprise's own needs, connecting with the enterprise's internal authentication, deployment, log, monitoring and other systems. It not only provides the native service governance capability for containerized micro services, but also transparently manages the application deployed by the existing virtual machines, promotes the overall migration of enterprise applications to the service governance platform, and improves the overall bearing capacity and high availability capability of IT systems.

Take Dyou Insurance as an example. As a technology platform for enterprise digital middle desk, the speed cloud distributed support platform of Dyou Insurance supports nearly 100 application components, which mainly includes two categories of business: core life insurance and core property insurance system. Supporting businesses include auto insurance, life insurance, personal insurance, full-time channel access platform, Bank Insurance Connect and other business systems. In the first quarter of marketing, the distributed service framework has undergone the test of traffic peak, and ensured the stable operation and high availability of business services through the technology of full-link topology alarm and monitoring, circuit breaker, current limiting and degradation.
