Since the launch of "Discover Future Design China Tour", the discussion on future design has been carried out in Beijing, Nanjing and Jinan and swept the design circles all over the country. Through the exchange and interaction of top design ideas, the collision of new ideas on future design has opened a more cutting-edge and changeable vision for China's new designers. Funded by Huanai Home Furnishing and jointly established by China Building Decoration Association, Hebei Tongxin Public Welfare Foundation and Residential Decoration and some Industries Branch of China Building Decoration Association, Huanai Design Fund aims to seek for cutting-edge design forces, build a quality communication platform, study the development trend of design, help the growth of designers, and make efforts to promote a better living life.
The Chengdu Station of "Discover Future Design" of Huanai Design Foundation started on November 19, 2019 to witness the growth and transformation of local cutting-edge designers. This activity has the honor to interview Wan Lei, a well-known local designer in Chengdu, and ask him to share his design experience and experience.

Vanai Design Fund: What made you want to be a designer? What is the significance of this career to you?
Wan Lei: When I got into art, I suddenly found that I really had a talent. I fell in love with industrial design and automobile appearance. Later, I gradually developed towards my major. Then I chose such a direction from hand-painting to university major. In fact, my generation belongs to the new school of designers. In recent years, I have a strong sense of professional significance. I used to think that this line is just a job for me, and I have a little interest in interior design. However, there was a change after I came into contact with the courses given by a good teacher in the industry a few years ago. When I started to listen to the courses, I did not have hope, thinking that their success should be some chicken soup for the soul, which might not have much to do with us. However, after I listened to the courses of a teacher again, I realized that our job is not simply to earn a salary and support the family. People at different levels have different requirements. If customers put forward the proposal, we need to share and guide our experience. Once they are recognized by customers, the sense of achievement will come into being. When you have a sense of mission and responsibility, the anti-fatigue ability of sticking to one thing will become stronger and stronger, and you will be more proactive in your work and more responsible in the face of customers. Even if they do not choose me, I will share some good cases in my opinion, and gradually I feel that I have become a communicator.
Wanai Design Fund: Using your own experience as an example, talk about your opinion on the current growth environment for Chinese home designers.
Wan Lei: The environment is definitely getting better and better. In the past, we may not have access to really good designers or cases, but now there are various platforms for us to learn from each other or integrate into the circle, get in touch with good designers or good teams, and have more good materials. All these are very important for us designers. In the past, I thought it was our designers to use it, but now I gradually feel that participating in learning and material giving us is their concept. For example, lamps and lanterns have given us a lot of inspiration. In the past, I thought lamps were just lighting. The effect carried by lighting may account for 60% or more, so back to the beginning, the comprehensive environment is definitely getting better and better, but you still need to take the initiative to learn. To tell the truth, I think our Chengdu is relatively slow, or the circle opened relatively small, Chengdu has very good teachers, but the circle is small, the overall environment, but anyone who wants to take root in this industry, must have the desire to continue to learn.
Wanai Design Fund: Designers are considered to represent the group of fashion trends, so what direction do you think the trend of home design will take in the future?
Wan Lei: I think it's smart, the style may be weakened or not to define, maybe you come home, how many kilometers away you are based on the weather, detect the specific time you get home, your home air conditioning may have started ahead of time. Including hardcover room, developers have put forward this intelligent requirements, slowly can feel the trend has been in the direction of artificial intelligence, intelligent life development. The basic design will certainly become more and more mature, and there may not be too much difficulty in the future. The future is definitely an era of intelligence. Speaking here, I would like to talk about my design concept, saying that the smaller is the edge of the material, which is what I will talk to my clients at present, and that the larger, light decoration, heavy decoration, minimalist, I think it is because we attach importance to the conversion and connection of many materials, such as the stone on the wall to your table may not be the same color, which cannot be directly fit. You have to do it in a variety of ways, but we're more in the details now.
Huanai Design Fund: The original intention of the Huanai Design Fund is to help more young designers grow up. As a designer, what are your expectations and expectations for this fund?
Wan Lei: The current environment makes the emergence of your platforms good news for our designers, and we are also keen to participate in it, which is for the promotion of the whole industry. I also hope to give more young designers platforms and opportunities to show themselves, so that more owners who need to decorate will know about our opportunities, and designers will pay more attention to their own works. We should adopt a more professional attitude and service attitude. If I used to think that taking a case is work, now I just think about how to produce works. This platform also promotes our own improvement.
Huannai Design Foundation hopes to promote the development of Chinese design, and create a "future design blueprint" from the cross-boundary perspective, so as to give designers a higher level of foresight and ability, so that design will become a more powerful force and a stronger cultural support in China and even in the future development.
