Pratt & Whitney will power International Airlines Group's fleet of 47 Airbus A320neo aircraft

Paris Air Show, Paris, June 19, 2017 -- International Aviation Group (IAG) has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pratt & Whitney to power its 47 confirmed Airbus A320neo family aircraft with cleanpower geared Turbofan ™(GTF) engines. Pratt & Whitney is a unit of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX).

Chris Kalio, president of Commercial Engines, Pratt & Whitney, said: "Pratt & Whitney appreciates IAG's confidence in the geared turbofan, which has demonstrated its commitment to fuel consumption savings, emissions and noise trajectory reduction. The Cleanpower engine is a game-changing breakthrough technology that has accumulated more than 200,000 passenger hours of operation. It now operates a fleet of 67 aircraft from 13 operators with 250 daily flights between more than 100 destinations on four continents."
