On May 10, Hitachi Elevator promoted innovative escalator and walkway products and solutions, including escalators, inclined walkways and horizontal walkways, at the 2016 China International Elevator Show.

In terms of safety and comfort requirements, Hitachi's innovative escalator and sidewalk products have comprehensively improved the safety factor of elevators. The product is equipped with more than 30 safety protection designs, including step safety design, service support system, and area detection sensor, which greatly reduces the possibility of elevator accidents. At the entrance and exit of the escalator, there are perfect anti-clamp safety protection scheme and rectangular cover plate protection design. In the middle part, intelligent and safe sensor detection technology is used for real-time abnormal monitoring. Once the passenger's upper body extends out of the armrest belt, a voice prompt will be issued to reduce the chance of falling.
Aiming at passengers' unconscious experience, the product solves passengers' unconscious diversified needs through the optimization of super visual safety boundary, the setting of clear and safe riding guidance area, and the design of ergonomic handrails. In the product design of horizontal sidewalk, besides the standard 1m wide pedals, 1.4m wide pedals can also be selected, which can not only strengthen the riding space of horizontal sidewalk transportation, but also improve the transportation capacity of passenger flow.
The product is fully considered in the research and design of China's aging society, elevator safety accident prone social issues, specially for children and elderly passengers set a 20m/min deceleration state, into the humanistic care of innovative technology. The normal running speed of the escalator is 30m/min. Hitachi uses sensor technology to intelligently identify the status of passengers at the entrance. When children or elderly people enter the ride guidance area at a slower pace, the escalator will automatically adjust the speed to 20m/min, so as to ensure the safety of children or elderly people. In addition, the product also has ECO operation mode, unattended low speed operation mode and automatic operation mode, which can realize the best use of kinetic energy through the combination of modes. The application of innovative technology has greatly improved the energy efficiency of products, which reflects Hitachi elevator's pursuit of quality of life.
