/PRZWT/ On March 3rd, 2026 at 20:04, when the moon completely disappeared into the umbra of the Earth, the sun, the Earth and the moon formed a straight line in the vast universe. That was the most captivating moment of a total lunar eclipse - there was no light in the sky, but it was not completely dark; instead, it was tinted with a fantastical and magnificent crimson color. At that moment, the moon was not hidden but declared its sovereignty in a blood-red hue.

The laws of astronomy cannot be altered by humans, but humans can, in their own way, channel the instantaneous power of the celestial connection and hold it in their wrists. The Seiko ATTESA series has launched a limited edition watch, presenting the profound red tone of "Shades of Red" in a crimson and red layered style. The layering of light and shadow flows on the dial, showcasing the myriad changes of the red color. With two flagship models, the red moon image of the total lunar eclipse is shaped. From the grand cosmic scene to the supreme masterpiece on the wrist, from cutting-edge technology to the ultimate craftsmanship. This is not only a tribute to the natural wonder, but also with technology as the blade, sealing the cosmic-level precision and order within the square inch of the dial.

The dial design of CC4077-71Z is a visually captivating narrative that progresses layer by layer: The base layer uses mother-of-pearl, with the natural iridescence and smooth luster forming the background color of the night earth. On top of this, the red lunar phase pattern is covered with a coated layering technique, and the wine red color is not a simple flat application but presents both deep and brilliant visual effects as it changes with light and shadow, being intense, serene, and not to be ignored. The deep red sapphire glass bezel surrounds the dial, and the inner side is double-coated.

The process of embossing the silver city name gives the impression of viewing the Earth's lights from the surface of the moon. Beneath the watch crystal, the world unfolds on your wrist, and you stand on the red moon, looking down.

Model BY1005-73Z places greater emphasis on the intricate detailing of the moon phase display disc. On the moon phase disc, metal electroplating and multiple layers of printing are sequentially stacked to meticulously recreate the breathtaking scene of the red moon soaring in the sky. The ink-colored night sky background is created through pearlized printing, and the scattered stars resemble a galaxy falling onto the wrist, with the starlight and gravitational force coalescing. Combined with the embossed inkjet printing technique on the lower layer of the dial, it creates the texture of the moon phase, with the interplay of light and shadow forming a three-dimensional moon phase disc with a strong sense of depth. Each gaze seems to transport one into the starry sky, encountering the romantic scene of the red moon soaring.

Below the dial lies the two flagship cores refined by Seiko's 50-year optical energy technology. The CC4077-71Z is equipped with the Cal.F950 optical energy movement - an extraordinary movement specially designed for satellite timing GPS watches. It receives GPS satellite signals 20,000 kilometers above the earth, with a monthly error of only ±5 seconds. Fully charged, it can operate continuously for approximately 5 years (in power-saving mode). It also features a light sensor indicator, power storage display, and a perpetual calendar function, providing comprehensive control over the watch's status. The BY1005-73Z is equipped with the Cal.H874 optical energy electric wave movement, integrating Seiko's fully automatic analog moon phase function, and can accurately receive signals from multiple global locations.

The wave signal automatically corrects the calendar and time division, with a monthly error of ±15 seconds. It also has a power reserve display function.

Both watches are made with the unique Shubao™ titanium technology for the case and strap, which have been treated with Duratect DLC surface hardening. Their hardness is over five times that of stainless steel, yet they are approximately 40% lighter than stainless steel. They are scratch-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and skin-friendly. This is the technical philosophy that ATTESA has adhered to since its inception in 1987 - strong yet not heavy, precise yet not cold. The CC4077-71Z features a 44.6mm case that forms a sharp outline. Beneath its 15.4mm thickness, it has a powerful seal capable of withstanding 10 atmospheres of pressure. The BY1005-73Z, under the same pressure resistance level, has a 41.5mm diameter and a 10.8mm slim profile, presenting a more restrained aesthetic. Its dial components are made from recycled materials, embodying the environmental concept within the tough core. The sapphire glass of both watches is coated with multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings, ensuring clear readability of the dial information even under strong light. The CC4077-71Z uses double spherical sapphire glass, suppressing reflections to an extremely low level, allowing the wearer's line of sight to pass through the glass without obstruction, directly to the red moon disc. Under strong light, the dial remains cold and clear; in the dark, the hour markers and hands break through the darkness with night glow. Just as during a total lunar eclipse, the Earth's atmosphere acts as a filter, allowing only the gentlest red light to reach the moon surface - Seiko uses technology to simulate the natural gift.

In 2026, it will mark the 50th anniversary of the launch of Seiko's light-powered wristwatch. Fifty years ago, Seiko replaced batteries with "light" to initiate a revolution in wristwatch energy sources; fifty years later, we still use light as the medium - this time, it is capturing the reflected moonlight from 380,000 kilometers away. The total lunar eclipse is the absence of light, but it is also a different kind of presence of light; just as the wristwatch itself, it seems to record the passage of time, but in fact, it is extracting the flowing time and presenting it as an wearable eternity.

"Shades of Red" was born for those who are not content with merely "observing the world". The Earth crowns itself with its own shadow as a moon disc. At that moment, the red color is not disappearing; it is proof of its existence. The moon rises and sets, and the world remains as usual. But on your wrist, there is always that red moon hanging there.
