/PRZWT/ZHANGYE, July 18, 2024 - On July 13, the Rui Tianrun Art Museum in Zhangye City, Gansu Province, opened its doors grandly. The museum exhibited more than a thousand calligraphy, paintings and artworks by the famous calligrapher and painter Wang Deshui. The works cover the essence of Zhangye and Gansu's humanities and natural scenery. Mr. Wang Deshui is the 55th generation grandson of the sage Wang Xizhi, the founding dean of Yuelu Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, and a visiting professor at Shanghai University, Shanghai Normal University, and Hunan First Normal University. He is under the tutelage of Cheng Shifa and Fang Zengxian.
Mr. Wang Deshui said at the opening ceremony that he came to Zhangye a few years ago. I think it is a very beautiful place for the culture of Zhangye, from colorful Danxia to walking into the Hexi Corridor. Back in my motherland, I have created a number of works reflecting the culture of Hunan. I think Zhangye has a profound cultural heritage. Over the years, I have created some works one after another. Among them, calligraphy. Zhangye was called Ganzhou in ancient times. The calligraphy works in this exhibition write the pen and ink poems left by the historical literati of Ganzhou for Ganzhou. The works also include Zhangye and the cultural attractions of Gansu. I want to use my artistic means to promote the beauty and culture of the northwest and help the development of Gansu cultural tourism. "
Wang Deshui also said that after traveling all over the world and studying abroad for more than 30 years, he felt that the motherland had mountains, rivers and humanities that could not be painted. Rui Tianrun Art Museum recorded my efforts in recent years. I think this is another new starting point for my artistic career.
At the opening ceremony, Zhang Xi, a disciple of Mr. Wang Deshui, announced the opening of the art museum. It is understood that Rui Tianrun Art Museum has an exhibition area of nearly 10,000 square meters, which can be said to be the largest individual art museum in Gansu Province and one of the few large-scale art venues in China.
Bai Jizhong, director of Rui Tianrun Art Museum, said that Rui Tianrun Art Museum is not only a place to display art works, but also a hall to gather artistic wisdom and inherit artistic spirit. The museum mainly displays the calligraphy and painting works of Mr. Wang Deshui, a famous calligrapher and painter in our country and a national first-class artist, covering calligraphy, painting, ceramics and other fields, with high artistic value and collection value. The art museum is an important cultural coordinate and quality symbol of a city, and an important place for a city to carry and convey cultural confidence and artistic aesthetics. We believe that the construction of Rui Tianrun Art Museum will surely inject new vitality into the cultural and artistic undertakings of Zhangye and even Gansu.

The guests attending the opening ceremony included leaders from the Changsha City Calligraphy and Painting Association of veteran cadres in Hunan Province, more than ten disciples of Mr. Wang Deshui from Beijing and other places, as well as relevant leaders from Zhangye City.
