/PRZWT/BEIJING, March 14, 2024 - Renewable energy and green technologies are the key drivers of the global energy transition, with solid-state battery technology emerging as a hotspot for investment because of its core advantages of high energy density, superior safety, and fast charging.

Recently, Guansheng Co., Ltd. and Dongchi Energy have jointly established a joint venture company "Zhejiang Guansheng Dongchi Energy Technology Co., Ltd." and held an exchange meeting on solid-state battery cooperation projects in Shanghai. At the meeting, the two sides introduced the cooperation background, respective advantages and future plans of the joint venture company in detail.

Zhou Longsheng, president of Guansheng Co., Ltd., said at the meeting that the company has always kept up with the development trend of the new energy industry and actively explored innovation paths. Established a strategic cooperative relationship with Seiko, jointly developed new energy automotive parts, and participated in the investment of the new energy fund to ensure that it keeps up with the cutting-edge trends of new energy technologies. This time, the cooperation between Guansheng and Dongchi Energy has entered the new energy solid-state battery market, which not only realizes the complementary advantages of technology and resources, but also is a deep layout and strategic expansion of overseas markets.

Guansheng Co., Ltd. was founded in 1985, and its product line covers multiple series such as constant velocity universal joints, drive shaft assemblies, wheel hub units, rubber vibration damping, steering and suspension parts. After more than 40 years of development, the company has continuously upgraded and optimized the one-stop multi-product solution supply chain platform, and has become a comprehensive service provider of the whole value chain in the global after-sales market.

In addition, as early as 2003, Guansheng has launched a global layout strategy to adapt to the needs and characteristics of different regions and countries. Today, it has established 9 distribution centers and 8 business centers around the world, and its products are exported to six continents: Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Oceania and Africa. The marketing grid covers more than 120 countries and regions around the world, providing high-quality parts products and related services for the global auto parts market.

President Zhou Longsheng further pointed out that Guansheng will fully rely on its overseas market channels, services and brand advantages to promote the commercial application of Dongchi energy technology, accelerate the industry popularization of solid-state battery technology, and contribute new strength to the development of the industry.

Dr. Cong, R & D Director of Dongchi Energy, gave a detailed introduction to Dongchi Energy's technological precipitation and innovation achievements in the field of polymer solid-state batteries. The core technical team of Dongchi Energy is based on the lithium battery R & D team led by Professor Xie Haiming, and has resources such as the Ministry of Education "Solid-State Battery Collaborative Innovation Platform" and the National Development and Reform Commission "National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Power Batteries". The Solid-State Battery Collaborative Innovation Platform is the only government-led solid-state battery innovation consortium, taking the lead in promoting the industrialization of solid-state batteries in the domestic polymer route. For many years, the company has focused on the research and development and production of polymer solid-state lithium batteries. So far, it has more than 60 polymer solid-state battery invention

The company has now built the first 0.5GWh polymer-based energy storage solid-state battery demonstration line in China. The lithium iron phosphate semi-solid lithium battery, which is the first to be developed in this line, uses in-situ ultraviolet light technology to prepare a polymer composite electrolyte membrane, combined with a non-combustible electrolyte that takes into account cost and performance as a double insurance to improve battery application safety; uses high-power, hot topic stability lithium iron phosphate as the positive electrode, and carries out secondary ultraviolet light curing on the surface of the graphite negative electrode to modify the lithium layer, achieving ultra-long cycle life from multiple angles such as electrode material selection and structural design.

Dr. Cong said that the quasi-solid-state battery of Dongchi Energy's technical reserve has achieved high-safety 450Wh/kg polymer benchmark solid-state battery through three breakthrough innovations. The core technology includes UV-initiated cross-linking polymerization to prepare high-voltage ion-conducting elastomer polymer electrolytes, achieving 10-3S/cm high room temperature ionic conductivity and oxidation resistance potential greater than 4.5V, and elastic stretching ratio greater than 1000%; non-combustible monomers are introduced during the polymerization process, and their ultra-low glass transition temperature (-80 degrees) makes the polymer electrolyte membrane equally applicable at low temperature (-20 degrees).

These technologies break down the barriers that existing solid-state batteries cannot operate at low temperatures; through the design of metal lithium surface shielding film, a high-stability and low-impedance solid-solid interface is built, filling the technical gap in the application of metal lithium anode; the company is also actively deploying the research and development of polymer all-solid-state lithium batteries; she believes that through continuous original technological innovation, new impetus will be injected into the development of the energy storage and power battery industry.

Since the announcement of the semi-solid battery cooperation project between Guansheng and Dongchi Energy, it has attracted great attention from the market. Li Chang, chairperson of the joint venture company, said that Guansheng Dongchi Energy Technology Co., Ltd., as the core subsidiary of Guansheng, will focus on the research and development and production of new energy solid-state battery technology.

Dongchi Energy has built a 0.5GWh solid-state battery demonstration line in Changchun. The first phase of the joint venture company 2.10 million cells and systems. The modern smart factory for solid-state batteries has also started construction, and the construction location is Wenzhou. The new factory will be produced and managed in strict accordance with international standards and industry norms to ensure that the product quality and performance reach the highest level in the industry, and provide the market and customers with high-safety and long-life semi-solid lithium batteries. The product has a wide range of application fields, including household energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage, large-scale energy storage power stations, special vehicles, electric boats, etc. The company strives to occupy a larger share in the future new energy market.

Industry analysts generally believe that the rise of the solid-state battery market has brought unprecedented opportunities to the industry. With the continuous maturity of technology and the expansion of application fields, the commercialization prospects of solid-state battery technology are becoming more and more clear, and its investment value and market potential deserve investors' attention. The strong alliance between Guansheng and Dongchi will undoubtedly accelerate the industrialization process of solid-state battery technology and inject new vitality into the new energy field.
