Hundreds of guests, including hundreds of guests, witnessed JA Technology's heavy release of two series of n-type module new products, "Azure" and "Yaolan", for the marine photovoltaic scene, opening a new "blue ocean" in the 2024 photovoltaic market!

Offshore photovoltaics, unlimited opportunities

The photovoltaic industry has flourished for decades and has made great contributions to global low-carbon development, but correspondingly, the land area currently available for photovoltaic installation has been greatly reduced. In this context, photovoltaic practitioners have set their sights on the vast and boundless Wang Yanghai.

If you look at the global coastline, the total length is undoubtedly more considerable. If it is used for the development of photovoltaics, it can be said that there are infinite opportunities, which will not only solve the problem of limited land, but also avoid the environmental impact caused by excessive land development.

At the same time, compared with onshore photovoltaics, offshore photovoltaics are often closer to the power load center in coastal areas, which makes it easier to connect electricity to the grid and reduce the loss and cost of long-distance transmission. In addition, the power generation benefits of offshore photovoltaics are also very obvious. Taking into account many factors, the current investment in offshore photovoltaics has achieved considerable returns.

But if we want to develop offshore photovoltaics vigorously, we will also encounter many challenges. The first challenge is that the marine environment is harsh, and geographical and climatic conditions such as storms, waves, and salt spray can cause serious damage to photovoltaic modules. Therefore, modules suitable for offshore photovoltaics need to have higher reliability and weather resistance.

Faced with these challenges, JA Technology combined its years of experience and achievements in the field of aquatic photovoltaics to launch DeepBlue.

The 4.0 Pro Azure Series and Yaolan Series are two offshore photovoltaic n-type product solutions, which are suitable for pile installation and offshore floating installation respectively, and can calmly meet the challenges of different offshore photovoltaic application scenarios.

The power of these two series of module products can reach up to 635W, and the module efficiency can reach up to 22.8%. In addition to inheriting the characteristics of JA Technology's flagship n-type module DeepBlue 4.0 Pro "high power, high efficiency, high power generation, high reliability", it also has the advantages of "anti-salt spray, anti-ultraviolet, anti-humid heat, and anti-hot spot", which effectively guarantees the income of investing in offshore photovoltaic power plants.

Shining blue ocean, extraordinary advancement

The advantages of azure blue series and Yaolan series products in terms of performance and reliability are equally obvious, but they also have differences for offshore photovoltaic scenarios to better apply to different application scenarios.

The azure blue series is suitable for tidal flats with water depth less than 10 meters or within 500 meters from the coast, stable geology and small water level changes. The product adopts double-layer coated glass, which can effectively prevent direct corrosion of water vapor to the glass. Compared with single-coated glass, it has better anti-fading performance under severe environmental conditions such as high temperature and humidity.

At the same time, the azure blue series all use double-layer co-extrusion second-generation film, which has the advantages of high water resistance, UV resistance and high volume resistivity. In addition, according to the characteristics of the marine environment, the azure blue series products are also specifically considered and selected in the selection of frames and junction boxes.

The Yaolan series is suitable for offshore areas with water depths greater than 10 meters, and adopts a floating installation method. On the basis of azure blue, the Yaolan series is more low-carbon, lightweight and more reliable.

In floating applications at sea, seawater often soaks into components, so Yaolan series uses high-weather-resistant double-layer coated glass for marine photovoltaics. This glass has good film density and weather resistance, which can effectively block water vapor, prevent the precipitation of sodium and calcium ions, and has stronger alkali and salt spray resistance.

Secondly, in terms of the frame, the JA Blue series adopts a polyurethane frame, which has the advantages of salt spray corrosion resistance, low carbon and light weight. At the same time, polyurethane is an insulating material, which can reduce the PID effect and effectively relieve the low temperature bending deformation of components. In the case of high winds at sea, it can also effectively relieve glass blasts.

Thirdly, the Yaolan series of products are packaged with high water resistance sealant as a whole, which can effectively improve the water resistance performance of the product; in terms of connector protective sleeve and junction box protection, the Yaolan series also adopts a special water resistance design and installation method. After the evaluation and consideration of these systems, as well as careful material selection and technical application, the Yaolan series can effectively ensure long-term reliable operation in marine floating application scenarios.

Finally, the Azure series and Yaolan series are also designed to fully consider the possible hot spot problems caused by seabird droppings. Taking the 2465mm * 1134mm (72 pieces) version modules in these two series as an example, compared with the 78-piece 182 modules of the same size, the 2465mm * 1134mm (72 pieces) version modules of the Azure and Yaolan series package fewer battery cells and lower open-circuit voltage, with a reduction of 7.69%, which can effectively reduce the risk of hot spots and provide more protection for the long-term reliable operation of offshore photovoltaic power plants.

It is worth mentioning that Azure and Yaolan series products always follow the classic standards of the industry and do not reduce the number of batteries too much. If the number of batteries is too small, it is necessary to achieve high power of the component with high current, which will increase the risk of heating spot temperature and current loss. Increasing the voltage or current alone cannot bring higher customer value. Only by "harmoniously" increasing the voltage and current of the component can the value of the system be maximized.

Chasing light to the sea, value leading

At present, JA's offshore photovoltaic n-type products have successfully passed IEC standards and toughened tests, and have performed well in salt spray, ammonia, sand dust, uneven snow load, salt water infiltration and other tests, and have obtained corresponding certificates. At the same time, JA's offshore photovoltaic n-type products have been fully recognized by third-party certification bodies for their power generation performance, safety performance and reliability in various application scenarios.

On this basis, JA's offshore photovoltaic n-type products have successfully passed the ASTM E1597 standard test of the American Society for Testing and Materials, and have the ability to withstand repeated exposure to salt atmosphere, immersion in seawater, and the ability to withstand temperature changes caused by seawater sputtering under sunlight. In the comprehensive test of seawater pressure immersion and temperature of ASTM E1597, the power attenuation of JA's offshore photovoltaic n-type products is only 0.322%.

At the same time, JA's offshore photovoltaic n-type products have also undergone a very rigorous salt spray level 8 test, with a power attenuation of only 0.9%, which is the same as the attenuation performance of conventional mass-produced modules salt spray 6. In the compound aging test, after DH1000h test, 384 hours of PID test in salt spray level 8 environment was done. Under positive and negative bias, the power attenuation was about 1% respectively. Various tests have shown the excellent performance of JA's offshore photovoltaic module products.

In the wind tunnel test, JA's offshore photovoltaic n-type products all passed the wind speed test of 60m/s, which is equivalent to the limit wind speed test of a Category 17 hurricane. This reflects the superior structural performance of JA's offshore photovoltaic n-type products, which can work in a super-strong wind environment and fully overcome the impact of strong winds and waves at sea.

From ASTM E1597 standard testing, to compound salt spray testing, to wind tunnel testing and other rigorous tests, the reliability of JA's offshore photovoltaic n-type products can be seen.

At present, Yaolan series modules have participated in the country's first offshore floating photovoltaic demonstration base jointly established by CIMC and the National Photovoltaic Quality Inspection Center in Yantai, Shandong. In an offshore environment of about 5KM and a water depth of 10-11 meters, Yaolan modules continue to interpret the meaning of value leadership.

Shining blue ocean, extraordinary advancement. As the world's leading photovoltaic company, JA Technology has launched two new products to the sea, which is expected to inject new momentum into the development of the global photovoltaic industry and open a new "blue ocean". At the same time, JA Technology will continue to deepen product technology research and development, lead industry innovation, and contribute more to the global green and low-carbon development.
