Shell signed strategic cooperation with China Automobile Maintenance Industry Association

/PRCWT/Guangzhou, August 10, 2023——On August 9, 2023, Shell and China Auto Repair Association (hereinafter referred to as: China Auto Repair Association) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Shell will formally participate in the work of a number of group standards led by the China Auto Repair Association, and will jointly develop the Shell New Energy Technology Training Certification Course with the association. The two sides will give play to their respective advantages to accelerate the construction of the standard system of China's new energy vehicle aftermarket, help the industry to train talents, inject new vitality into the automotive aftermarket era of "fuel and electricity integration", and promote the prosperity and development of the ecosystem.

In recent years, China's new energy vehicle industry has been booming, which has spawned a large demand for related after-sales services. However, the overall service capacity of the new energy vehicle after-sales market is insufficient, and it is difficult to meet the rapidly growing needs of consumers. Among them, the after-sales service standards are not perfect and not uniform, the service of various brands is different, and the professional service personnel are insufficient. Shell hopes to accelerate the improvement of the standard system of the new energy vehicle service industry through cooperation with the China Automobile Maintenance Industry Association, an authoritative association in the industry, to help the training of industry professionals, so that traditional auto repair stores will be revitalized in the era of "coexistence of fuel and electricity", and the industry ecosystem will show a prosperous trend.

The two sides intend to cooperate in the following areas:

Co-create group standards: Shell has participated in the new energy vehicle maintenance vocational skills evaluation specification (training standard) led by the China Auto Repair Association, and will participate in more group standards drafted, developed and/or revised by the Automobile Association. Including new energy vehicle power battery testing and maintenance specifications (technical standards), assured auto repair certification evaluation specifications T/CAMRA 007-2018(store management and certification standards). In the three dimensions of technology, training and store management, we will work together to promote the follow-up management and service improvement of aftermarket stores. Through the formulation of these standards, the two sides will jointly promote the standardization and standardization of the industry, and improve the technical level and service quality of aftermarket stores.

Joint support for talent training: The two parties will jointly develop the Shell New Energy Technology Training Certification Course. The course aims to provide new energy vehicle-related knowledge and skills training for automotive aftermarket practitioners, including the basic structure of new energy vehicles, knowledge and methods to avoid operational risks, maintenance projects and original standards outside the three power systems of mainstream new energy models. This course will help participants obtain systematic and comprehensive training to improve their professionalism in the field of new energy vehicle maintenance. The two sides hope to provide more professionals for the industry through talent training and inject vitality into the development of the aftermarket.
