Guangzhou, April 11, 2022 -- The first phase of the Three Gorges Dongyuemiao Data Center construction Project, in which Huawei Digital Energy provides the overall data center infrastructure solution, has been completed and put into operation.
It is understood that the Three Gorges Dongyue Temple data Center is located in the right bank of the Three Gorges Dam area of Yichang City, Hubei province, covering an area of 100,000 square meters, planning construction of 26400 cabinets, divided into three phases of construction. The first phase of the project was officially started on February 18, 2021, the first batch of cabinets was put into operation on November 30, 2021, and completed and put into operation on March 29, 2022, lasting one year. When all three phases are completed and put into operation, it will become the largest green zero carbon data center cluster in Central China.
The first phase of the project, with a total investment of 845 million yuan, has built 4,400 cabinets and a building area of 40,000 square meters. The annual electricity consumption of the first phase of the project will exceed 200 million KWH, which will be powered by clean hydropower from the Three Gorges and cooled by the river water source system, greatly reducing energy consumption and improving energy efficiency.
Three Gorges Dongyuemiao Data Center is A major project of digital transformation of China Three Gorges Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as "Three Gorges Corporation") in the 14th Five-Year Plan, and the first major "new infrastructure" project delivered after the headquarters moved back to Hubei Province. It is built according to the national A class computer room standard, and adopts the most advanced technology and independent safe and controllable products in the industry. It is the first large green zero carbon data center in China.
In this project, Huawei provided L0+L1 overall solution, including data center system architecture design, main equipment supply and integrated management delivery, especially the full stack solution provided by Huawei data center Energy. It includes 160 sets of modular computer rooms, 38 sets of intelligent power modules, 320 sets of intelligent lithium electric equipment, 160 sets of high temperature wind wall, 1 set of iCooling@AI intelligent temperature control system and 1 set of intelligent inspection robot, helping Three Gorges Group to build a minimalist, intelligent, safe and green data center.
In the context of "double carbon", energy conservation and carbon reduction of data centers are becoming more and more important. In order to help Three Gorges Corporation develop Dongyue Temple data Center into a green zero carbon data center, Huawei Digital Energy adopted the most advanced intelligent cooling solution in the industry to control the annual PUE(power utilization efficiency) within 1.25; The smart power module + smart lithium power backup solution not only ensures the long-term reliable operation of data centers, but also saves 40% of the power supply and distribution area. More than 500 cabinets are deployed.
At the same time, the overall system solution combined with the end-to-end prefabricated delivery model helps customers achieve rapid deployment, reducing time to market by 50% compared to traditional data center construction model.
It is reported that with the launch of the national "East count west count" project, Three Gorges Group will rely on the geographical advantages of Three Gorges Dongyuemiao Data center, reliable supply of clean energy and high-level security advantages, actively join hands with Hubei Province and Yichang City, to build it into the ninth national integrated computing network hub node. Make it a veritable "keeper" of national data, a "leader" of green zero carbon, and a "dispatcher" of data counting in the east and the west, and provide a green, environmentally friendly and safe digital infrastructure base for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and even the national digital economy.
