On the morning of December 26, the press conference of Pingtan International Racing Carnival was held in Beijing Phoenix Center.
At the press conference, Huang Jianbo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Experiment Zone, He Jiandong, full-time vice president of China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation, Kang Guoming, chairman of China Youth Travel, Ye Shengji, chief engineer of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and Li Yongzhong, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of Fujian Investment Group, delivered speeches for the press conference respectively.
At 11am, as the leading guests press the start button, Pingtan International Racing Carnival activity officially launched.
At the meeting, Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Area also signed a strategic framework agreement with China Auto Motor Federation, and the two sides will jointly build Pingtan International Racing Island and Pingtan International Racing Carnival IP project.
Pingtan will make use of the existing transportation infrastructure to transform and build a number of motorsports tracks and facilities, and introduce national competitions such as COC China Auto Track Cross-country Championship, China GT China Supercar Championship, FIA F4 China Championship, etc. At the same time, featuring cross-Straits communication and low-carbon environmental protection, Pingtan will build some independent race brands, such as Straits International Kart Invitational Race, drag race, Straits Electric Crossover Rally, New Year's Eve Lake endurance Race, New energy Island Race, etc., gradually starting the brand of Pingtan International Racing Carnival.
The press conference also introduced the Pingtan "International Automobile Culture, Sports, Science and Innovation Industrial Park" project. The project was jointly initiated by the experimental area and Fujian Investment Group, with a total investment of more than 10 billion yuan. We hired a design team that has designed an international first-class racing track, and created an innovative industrial business model with secondary and tertiary industries in parallel. In the future, there will be a collection of new energy vehicle testing and competition, theme hotels, RV camps, racing clubs, bonded storage and exhibition trading of auto racing, spare parts modification and other diversified business forms, gathering global professional drivers, racing enthusiasts, event operation enterprises, new energy technology enterprises and business partners.
Pingtan is located in the east of Fujian Province. It is the first island in Fujian and the fifth largest island in China. It is also the closest place from the mainland to Taiwan Island. In August 2016, The State Council officially approved the Construction Plan of Pingtan International Tourism Island. At present, Pingtan International Tourism Island is taking "international style, youth and fashion" as the main line, vigorously developing cultural tourism economy, focusing on cultivating the three core competitiveness of culture, tourism and sports, and creating a happy island of music art, a vibrant island of brand events, and a comfortable island of tourism experience.
"We will take advantage of Pingtan's natural endowment to create a very challenging race track, hold a series of national and international events, while supporting the film festival, cartoon exhibition, music festival and other activities, to create a paradise for racing fans, coastal sports, tourism and fun ocean." Starting from Beijing, the Pingtan International Racing Carnival is expected to meet in Pingtan, the last stop of the Beijing-Taiwan Expressway in 2022.
