More than 2,000 years ago, Guangzhou was an important foreign port in China. It not only witnessed the prosperity of the "Thirteen Lines" and "Maritime Silk Road" in modern times, but also witnessed the commercial legend of the contemporary "Canton Fair". Now, with the advent of the digital era, Guangzhou has taken the trend and taken up the banner of the development of digital economy in South China. The "Millennium Commercial Capital" once again shows new vitality. In 2019, Guangzhou's GDP totaled 2362.8 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 6.8%, leading the four first-tier cities and ranking first. The total GDP of Guangzhou increased from 249.3 billion yuan in 2000 to 2362.8 billion yuan in 2019, an increase of nearly 10 times in 20 years.
Behind GDP growth, the digital economy is playing an increasingly important role, bringing new development opportunities for the enhancement of comprehensive urban functions, comprehensive strength of urban culture, modern service industry and modern and international business environment. Guangzhou is vigorously promoting the construction of artificial intelligence and digital economy pilot zone, developing IAB(new generation information technology, artificial intelligence, biomedicine) and emerging industries, activating industry through technology, and accelerating industrial intelligence upgrading.
Guangzhou's AI and digital Economy construction has entered the "fast lane"
At present, Guangzhou is grasping the opportunity of "new infrastructure", focusing on information infrastructure, integration infrastructure, innovation infrastructure and other aspects, taking "software + hardware" and "application + service" as the main development path, and actively arranging the construction of 5G, data center, artificial intelligence, Internet of things, industrial Internet and other new infrastructure. This also injects new momentum into the high-quality development of Guangzhou and provides strong support for the further construction of its smart city.
On March 29 this year, Guangzhou Development Zone and Guangzhou High-tech Zone took the lead in launching the "10 Rules of New Infrastructure", taking the "new infrastructure" as the lead to create a new model for the development of digital economy. In May, Guangzhou also held the first batch of major digital infrastructure projects signing and unveiling activities. More than 300 enterprises represented by Huawei completed the signing online. The signed projects covered key digital infrastructure projects such as 5G, artificial intelligence, big data center, industrial Internet, intelligent charging pile, etc. In order to improve the quality and growth of Guangzhou's digital infrastructure, Leading the future digital economy provides strong support. On July 8, Guangzhou Bureau of Industry and Information Technology announced the Three-year Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of New Digital Infrastructure in Guangzhou (2020-2022). The plan proposed that by 2022, the development level of new infrastructure will lead the whole country, and initially form a new development concept as the guide, driven by scientific and technological innovation, based on information network. A new infrastructure system that supports digital transformation, intelligent upgrading, and integrated innovation.
In terms of digital economy construction, 36,000 5G base stations have been built in Guangzhou, and the total number of 5G users has exceeded 4 million, ranking among the top in China. At the same time, Guangzhou also issued the first programed document on the innovation and development of digital economy -- Several Measures for Guangzhou to accelerate the Building of an innovation-leading City of Digital Economy. Guangzhou will speed up the layout of a digital economy "1+N" innovation park with artificial intelligence and digital economy pilot zone as the core, according to the measures.
As the city with the top business environment in China, artificial intelligence and digital economy have a broad application basis in Guangzhou. Under the dual drive of policies and technologies, Guangzhou enterprises should seize the opportunity, closely combine science and technology with business, constantly innovate business models, expand new business opportunities and boundaries, "create new colors", and jointly create wisdom in Guangzhou.
"Cloud +AI+5G" technological innovation enables the urban development of Guangzhou
Huawei has been officially rooted in Guangzhou since it started business there in 1989. In 2017, the Guangzhou Municipal government jointly built China's largest government cloud platform with Huawei. Through the open, credible and unified management of Huawei Cloud, the innovation efficiency of government governance was greatly improved, and the project construction and deployment cycle was shortened by over 70% on average and the cost was reduced by three-quarters. In the same year, the Guangzhou Baiyun District government cooperated with Huawei in the construction of "three centers and one platform" (cloud computing data center, cloud industry operation center, innovation exhibition center and cloud industry development platform). In April this year, Huawei Guangzhou R&D Center was officially established in Baiyun, injecting new momentum into the regional development.
In the past two years, in the software development cloud, public cloud, cloud software park, intelligent manufacturing four cloud services, has served 2000 enterprises in Guangzhou. Leading enterprises in different industries, such as GaC Automobile, Huya and Vipshop, have experienced the information source power brought by "Shangyun". Among them, by joining hands with Huawei Cloud, GAC Nio introduced Huawei cloud car networking solution and big data solution, rapidly deployed the cloud car networking big data platform, and created a benchmark in the domestic intelligent automobile industry. Three dimensional Home and Huawei Cloud build home industry cluster, realize the whole process, multi-link, cross-system cloud information coordination, support the rapid development of home industry.
From the "commercial capital of thousands of years" to the current "Guangzhou of Wisdom", Guangzhou has continued to make progress. How will 5G, artificial intelligence and cloud computing activate the real economy and create an all-scene smart Guangzhou? How will the new infrastructure bring opportunities and resources to the development of artificial intelligence and digital economy in Guangzhou? How will Guangzhou's proud business environment continue to lead the country? How will innovation develop in urban construction, transportation, manufacturing, home furnishment, agriculture and other industries?
