The 2020 International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT) was held in Wuhan from October 11 to October 14. It is understood that Royole released the world's first foldable mobile phone FlexPai as early as 2018, and then released the new generation of 5G foldable mobile phone FlexPai 2 in September this year. More interesting is the screen of FlexPai 2, which uses Royole's "third-generation Cicada Full flexible screen". When expanded, the screen reaches 7.8 inches, with mirrorlike smoothness. Meanwhile, it has been certified by the China Metrologic Institute for 1.8 million bending times, which greatly improves its durability and eliminates the advantage of users' backtracking.
Royole's third-generation Canyi fully flexible screen equipped with FlexPai 2 adopts ULT-NSSP, a self-developed ultra-low temperature non-silicon process integration technology. Compared with LTPS technology used by Samsung and other manufacturers, it avoids the inherent defects of silicon, simplifies the process, lowers the process temperature, and offers a wider range of materials. It greatly improves the yield and bending reliability of the mass production.
