A psychedelic show full of Oriental culture

The streets of the Manhattan Bridge in New York's Chinatown are filled with traditional paper lanterns draped in Chinese characters and English, and the colorful neon lights look psychedelic in the water stains on the ground. Raf Simons' design was inspired by the film Blade Runner. He specially invited graphic artist Peter Saville to bring a series of elements that belonged to the misty rain atmosphere of Jiangnan into the show. Who could possibly relate this mix of Chinese and Western culture and futuristic sci-fi to a fashion show without models in rubber raincoats, extravagant hats, transparent umbrellas and high wellies?

Eastpak®× Raf Simons Sixth collaboration Series

In such a strange show, Raf Simons and Eastpak released the sixth cooperation series, with the perspective of collision and integration of Chinese and Western culture and historical time and space, designed five products with a sense of future and industrial elements fusion -- a handbag, three new backpacks and a second creation of a shoulder bag. By deconstructing and reshaping the classic bag style of EASTPAK, Raf Simons' avant garde and crisp cutting is implemented in the design, focusing on the interlacing of colors and different materials, and then incorporating the new punk style, the high-end visual effects are extended to the extreme.

A designer who refuses to follow fashion rules

Rafs was born in Belgium in 1968. He is a designer with a background in industrial and furniture design. In 1995, she was encouraged by Linda Lopa to become a menswear designer by herself and set up her own label. Since then, he has served as director or creative officer of international brands such as JIL SANDER, CHRISTIAN DIOR and CALVIN KLEIN.

Raf Simons advocates the pride of individuality. Refusing to conform to fashion norms, his designs incorporate the energy and uniqueness of the teen subculture. He likes to constantly study fabrics and textures, and his sharpness and precision of classic tailoring techniques express his attention to individuality and independence.

A backpack brand favored by designers

This is their sixth collaboration, so why is Eastpak so attractive to such a maverick designer? Raf said that the Eastpak backpack is a medium of connection, mutual understanding and respect with teenagers, hoping to take this opportunity to bridge the gap between high-end menswear and street urchins.

Eastpak® was born in 1952 on the East Coast of the United States. It started as a manufacturer of U.S. military bags and suitcases, and established a high standard of products and high quality. Eastpak has always created backpacks that inspire people to experience life, and it is this dedication that makes Eastpak stand out.

In the process of development, many brands will make constant changes in the style, size or material of the product. More than 60 years after its founding, Eastpak still maintains its iconic bag shape, durable quality and simple style. As always, it conveys the life attitude of "free hands and enjoy life" to people, hoping to give people the freedom to explore the world and encourage people to pursue and discover new experiences. Perhaps this is why the Eastpak Backpack keeps popping up on the scene and collaborating with so many designers.
