Earlier, Shijiying Central Primary School, like many units, used a traditional 4-ton boiler room for heating, burning more than 400 tons of coal a year, which was bad for air pollution and students' physical and mental health. Li Ziyi, a student, said, "Our class is closest to the former boiler room. There are some tiny cinder particles floating in it. The tables and floors are all black. When it's cold, you put on a padded jacket and when it's hot, you wipe your sleeves. But this year it's different. Not only is the air outside good, you can see the mountains, but the temperature inside is also very good."

Liu Guobin, general manager of Beijing Yankai Energy Technology Co., LTD., said in an interview that we renovated the Shijiaying Central Primary School in Fangshan through clean energy heating and introduced electric heat storage boilers, which removed all the coal in the past and completely achieved zero emissions without polluting the air environment. On the other hand, the indoor heating temperature of the school is very constant and comfortable, but also to ensure the health of the campus staff, killing two birds with one stone. This is the gratifying effect of "coal to electricity".

Data show that in 2016, Fangshan District made coal reduction for coal in rural areas and clean energy transformation of coal-fired boilers the top priority of air pollution control. A total of 90 villages in the region have replaced coal with electricity and gas. Coal-fired boilers have been upgraded to clean energy with 1,648.5 tons of steam, and coal burning has been reduced by 690,000 tons. The concentration of fine particulate matter in the region's air is 83 micrograms per cubic meter, down 13.5 percent.

Among them, the project invested and operated by Yankai Energy dismantled 102 tons of coal-fired boilers. The project can reduce the coal consumption of Fangshan District by about 30,000 tons annually, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 78,600 tons, reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by 255 tons, reduce helium oxide emissions by 222 tons, reduce fly ash by 6,000 tons and carbon slag by 7,500 tons. Emission reduction of 360,000 tons of smoke.

Many years of hard work in return for gratifying results! According to the survey, the annual average PM2.5 concentration in Beijing will drop from 73 micrograms per cubic meter to 60 micrograms per cubic meter in 2017, the end of the 10th National Plan for Air Pollution Prevention and Control and Beijing's Clean Air Action Plan. On April 1, Beijing also implemented a new standard for boiler emissions, which limits emissions below 80 micrograms per cubic meter.
