Recently, the 55KW wind-wind complementary power plant in Pakistan's Punjab province, donated by the Asian Development Bank and undertaken by ZTE Energy, passed the preliminary acceptance by the Punjab Energy Authority and the ADB project team, and has been successfully delivered and entered the trial operation stage. It also adds a light touch to the upcoming Belt and Road Summit.

The project is located in Khushab district, Punjab, Pakistan, in a mountainous area without electricity (two mountain villages, Wadgal and Pheera). It's not covered by the local power grid, so villagers have to use lights. In the summer, temperatures reach 40 to 50 degrees, and villagers can't even blow electric fans. The serious shortage of electricity has brought great inconvenience to the daily life of the local villagers. Based on the current power situation and the power planning in recent years, and considering the local conditions such as wind and light, ADB finally chose to build the wind-landscape complementary power station in these two mountain villages, hoping to solve the electricity problem for the local villagers. With years of experience in photovoltaic project implementation at home and abroad, ZTE Energy stood out in the bidding for this project. As the implementation unit, ZTE Energy quickly organized and completed the system design, equipment purchase, site construction and power operation of the project, so that local villagers can live a life with electricity.

The total installed capacity of this project is 55KW, including 2 10KW fan units and 1 35KV photovoltaic power station. Zte Energy is the EPC general contractor and the one-year operation and maintenance party of the project. After the completion of the project, the annual electricity generation will be more than 70,000 KWH, which can meet the daily electricity needs of about 560 people in 80 local villagers, 1 school and 1 mosque, as well as the self-use electricity needs for the operation and maintenance of the power station, and will greatly improve the quality of life of local villagers. After completion of the project, it will also provide model model and data support for the promotion of wind-solar complementary off-grid projects in Pakistan and the surrounding areas of Southeast Asia, and play a good demonstration effect.
The project is also ZTE Energy's second photovoltaic project in Punjab province after the 900MW photovoltaic power plant, a priority project of the Belt and Road China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. According to the latest statistics, since the first phase of the 900MW power plant project was connected to the grid last year, by the end of April, the cumulative power generation was 478,364,200 KWH, which can solve the electricity consumption of 210,000 households, and is expected to reduce 167,427.47 tons of coal consumption and 389,388.45 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, ZTE Energy has trained a large number of local technical engineers. At present, there are about 1,800-2,000 Pakistani engineers and about 500 Chinese engineers. The 300MW phase I project has played a positive role in the development of the local economy and the improvement of people's livelihood, which has been recognized by the local government. It has also become the first energy project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to realize the financing closure, the first to realize the grid-connected power generation, and the first to get the electricity bill paid by Pakistan, helping the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to play a demonstration effect in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Besides Pakistan, ZTE Energy has also conducted field visits in Indonesia, Bangladesh, Iran and other countries, and will carry out more clean energy projects in the future. "Under the Belt and Road Initiative, ZTE Energy hopes to give play to its advantages in clean energy, spread more advanced technologies and ideas, achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, and do its part to promote cultural exchanges and enhance friendship." Zte Energy said.
