On March 31, the seminar on Central Enterprise Travel Management and Platform Construction was held in Beijing, which was co-sponsored by China State-owned Enterprise Industrial Innovation Strategic Alliance and related units. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Shichuan, Secretary general of the Industrial Innovation Strategic Alliance of China's state-owned enterprises. The theme focuses on "The value and significance of Central enterprises' travel management", and discusses how to promote central enterprises to innovate cost control methods and mechanisms, strengthen and standardize travel management and other work under the background of earnestly implementing the requirements of State Council Executive meeting on promoting cost reduction and efficiency of state-owned enterprises and improving operation efficiency. China North Industries Group Corporation, State Power Investment Group Corporation, China Resources (Group) Co., Ltd. and other SASAC system nearly 100 state-owned enterprises, state-owned enterprises and local SASAC in charge of travel related personnel attended the meeting.
Yuan Shaoli, chairman of the Industrial Innovation Strategic Alliance of China's state-owned enterprises, pointed out in his speech that under the eight provisions of the central government and the requirements of cost reduction and efficiency increase, the central enterprises' awareness of travel management is increasingly strengthened, and the demand for the construction of travel management platform is increasingly strong. How to save travel costs, improve work efficiency, strengthen internal management and control, prevent violations, and promote the whole process management and the construction of travel platform are important issues facing central enterprises. The travel management and platform construction of central enterprises have been strengthened, so that the enterprise's ability of resource integration, centralized procurement and system support has been improved. It is also conducive to saving official expenses and realizing the transparency, openness and institutionalization of travel expenses.
Travel management is not only a matter of cost reduction, but also a side reflection of enterprise management level and management efficiency. As the second largest controllable cost of an enterprise, travel cost accounts for 24% of its operating expenses. If managed effectively, it could save businesses 10-20%. Wang Xuesong, CEO of Treasure House Online and an expert on travel platforms, offered professional advice. He said, "Most of the internal and external pain points existing in corporate travel business at present, the bottom line is that enterprises lack their own travel management ability. Only through information means to solidify, so that enterprises have their own travel management methods and measures, centralized procurement, compliance management, access to internal and external data, assist and optimize decision-making." He also made an in-depth analysis on the ways and means of enterprise travel management capacity building.
With the gradual enhancement of central enterprises' requirements on cost control and management norms for travel services, how to reduce travel costs, improve travel efficiency and comply with procurement without affecting travel and business development has become the most concerned issue. In recent years, China Unicom Information Navigation Co., Ltd. has realized the integration of business and tourism from the aspects of platform structure, product resources, whole process services, settlement mode and so on. China Unicom has made remarkable achievements in just two years since it started its work in February 2015. As a service-oriented central enterprise, Air China shares its experience from the perspective of the value that direct sales to key customers of airlines bring to central enterprises. Jinjiang Group, a state-owned enterprise from Shanghai, describes the role of direct hotel sales in helping companies achieve more transparent procurement compliance. The guests also had a warm discussion on the practical significance, expectations, views and experiences of building a business travel platform.
