At present, according to the organizing committee of Guangdong Sports Expo, the Elite Challenge of Guangdong Taekwondo Demonstration Team, sponsored by Guangdong Heavy Sports Training Center, Guangdong Taekwondo Association and Guangdong Sports Bureau, has officially settled in 2013 Guangdong Sports Expo. There will be teams from 16 cities across the province, more than 600 contestants competing for the highest awards, and nearly 2,000 fans watching the competition.
With the opening and development of the society, Taekwondo, a martial art, has gradually become a household sport and a competitive activity favored by the majority of teenagers. There are 200,000 taekwondo practitioners registered in Guangdong Province alone. In order to implement the provincial government's opinions on the development of sports industry in Canada, develop the sports competitive performance industry, publicize Taekwondo, popularize young people's understanding of taekwondo, and promote the spirit of national fitness, the organizing committee of Guangdong Sports Expo jointly holds the Guangdong Taekwondo Demonstration Team Elite Challenge. It will bring a zero distance competitive event to all the spectators of 2013 Guangdong Sports Expo.
Guangdong Taekwondo Demonstration Team Elite Challenge is an annual event with up to 500 participants. It consists of four events, namely Taekwondo style, integrated team, Muay Thai Do dance and stunt. It is mainly for young people aged 8-18.
Guangdong Taekwondo Demonstration Team is directly led by Mr. Xu Guoyuan, Secretary-General of Guangdong Taekwondo Association and deputy director of Guangdong Heavy Sports Center. The transportation bases have been established with 16 cities in Guangdong Province, including Guangzhou, Shantou, Maoming, Zhanjiang, Shunde, Zhaoqing, Huizhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Dongguan, Shaoguan, Foshan, Luoding, Qingyuan, Jiangmen and other local organizations with certain local influence. After 13 years of precipitation, the Guangdong International Sports Fair has formed a brand and scale, which is second to no one in the whole South China. It not only assumes the function of brand display, but also becomes a platform to show the methods, knowledge and skills of group activities, and further gets closer to the masses. The Elite Challenge is settled in the Expo. It is bound to become an important sport event in Guangdong Province and become the focus of the industry.
