Teachers and students of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine went to Shaanxi to provide children's health services and sow traditional medical culture

/PRZWT/BEIJING, July 15, 2024 - From July 8 to 10, in order to understand the health status of children and adolescents in the old revolutionary areas and promote the ability of traditional Chinese medicine children's health services, the Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine summer teacher-student practice activity team, led by Professor Gu Xiaohong, went to Shaanxi Province to carry out a series of children's health traditional Chinese medicine service activities.

At the Hongjun Primary School in Beiliang, Zhaojin, Tongchuan City, Professor Gu Xiaohong and the students conducted a research activity on TCM health science and children's gastrointestinal heat accumulation. Professor Gu introduced the health theory of TCM in plain language, especially the prevention and treatment of children's gastrointestinal heat accumulation. Her explanation was lively and interesting, and was well received by the children. At the event, the children actively participated in the interaction and asked Professor Gu about TCM knowledge. The sixth-grade student Zhang Zhi (pseudonym) expressed his gratitude to Professor Gu after class and decided to be admitted to Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the future.

This event also includes the "Tongchuan Children's Gastrointestinal Heat Distribution Project" jointly initiated by Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Zhiqi Health Industry Group. This project relies on the support of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine to study and analyze the distribution of children's gastrointestinal heat in different regions, explore the correlation between lifestyle and gastrointestinal heat, and provide a scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of children's gastrointestinal heat. The "Medicine and Food Homologous Prescription for the Treatment of Children's Gastrointestinal Heat" developed by Professor Gu Xiaohong's team has been industrialized into a series of products, and donated to Zhaojin Beiliang Hongjun Primary School in this event.

In addition to the school activities, the teachers and students of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine also went to Yaowangshan, Shaanxi Province, famous for the famous Chinese medicine scientist Sun Simiao in the Tang Dynasty, to conduct a survey of Chinese medicine culture.
