/PRCWT/Guangzhou, September 01, 2023——To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the birth of the Hippocampus series, OMEGA solemnly launched 7 iconic watches, a total of 11 watches. All new watches are equipped with a "SummerBlue" dial, which reflects the different waterproof depth of each watch through the depth of the dial tone. The deeper the waterproof depth, the darker the color of the dial. The three new Seahorse AquaTerra watches feature light blue dials that echo their 150m water resistance. The Aqua Terra watch is the entry model of the Seahorse series waterproof watch, so the dial tone is the lightest. But in my opinion (note: JorgWeppelink, Fratellowatches), these three watches are also the most stylish of the 75th anniversary watches.
Omega named the blue used in the Seahorse series 75th anniversary model "SummerBlue", it is not a single hue, but a series of tones composed of fascinating spectrum. The look of the new AquaTerra watch from the Seahorse collection is stunning, making it a fantastic summer watch trio.
Three new Seahorse AquaTerra watches
The three new Seahorse 75th anniversary watches showcase the rich diversity of the AquaTerra sub-collection, first released in 2002. The first is the 38mm AquaTerra watch, whose sailboat shaped hour scale is very easy to read. The second is the popular 41mm AquaTerra watch, with a dial decorated with a horizontal teak grain. The third model, the 43mm AquaTerra Universal Time Watch, is slightly larger but more functional.
As far as the summer atmosphere is concerned, the three styles are neck and neck. The combination of the 41mm AquaTerra watch with a light blue rubber strap is fantastic. The classic teak textured light blue dial is paired with a light blue rubber strap for an unbeatable summer touch. The Aqua Terra World Time watch is more complex, and the addition of a rubber strap is a bright sight. If you need to travel across multiple time zones to reach your holiday destination, then this watch is the one for you.
The SummerBlue dial of the Aqua Terra 38mm shows a sun-polished effect, and although it is paired with a steel bracelet, it looks just as stylish and very comfortable to wear. Below, let's take a deeper look at these three watches.
Seahorse Series AquaTerra 38mm watch (Model: 220.10.38.20.03.004)
The first of the AquaTerra trio is a 38mm model. Omega has launched a number of 38mm watches, no doubt the most famous is the AquaTerraShades watch. The case of the AquaTerraShades is made of polished steel and is available in 34mm and 38mm sizes, with a colorful dial that ditches the classic teak texture for a sun-radiant finish. The Aqua Terra Shades 38mm watch has a colorful dial that is suitable for both men and women. The new 38mm Aqua Terra 75th anniversary watch is also derived from this concept.
Stunning steel bracelet
The watch is made of refined steel with a diameter of 38 mm, a thickness of 12.2 mm and a length of 45 mm. The watch comes with a charming light blue gradient dial decorated with solar radiations and a sailboat shaped hour scale. The hands and time markers are covered in a light blue Super-LumiNova luminous coating that comples the SummerBlue design. The calendar window is located at 6 o 'clock, and the light blue date dial echoes the theme. This watch is paired with a very fine steel bracelet. The width of the end chain is 19 mm, and the three-row chain design is very beautiful and comfortable to wear.
Flip the watch and you can see the pattern of Poseidon driving two different seahorses. One is Jean-PierreBorle's original design from 1956, and the other is the seahorse logo used today. The watch is equipped with the Omega 8800 coaxial movement, which is the same automatic movement used by the Hippocampus series 300 meters diving watch. The 8800 movement has a vibration frequency of 25,200 times per hour (3.5 Hz), contains 35 jewel bearings, and has power storage for up to 55 hours. The movement is certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (metaS) as an Advanced observatory and is capable of resisting strong magnetic fields of up to 15,000 Gauss. This watch is also a model designed specifically for women in this year's 75th anniversary Haima Watch.
Haima Series AquaTerra 41mm watch (Model: 220.10.41.21.03.005)
The second is the well-known 41 mm watch model. The case of this watch is 41 mm, the thickness is 13.2 mm, the length is 47.9 mm, and the ear spacing is 20 mm. The case is made of refined steel, with a stunning light blue gradient dial and a signature teak texture in the style of a sailboat deck. The combination of texture, color and subtle gradients results in this exquisite watch.
Rhodium-plated hands and hour scales are coated with a light blue Super-LumiNova luminous coating. The luminous coating is much lighter in tone than the dial, creating a nice contrast. As with the regular 41 mm AquaTerra model, the calendar window is located at 6 o 'clock. The color scheme of the date dial echoes the dial, closely tied to the "SummerBlue" theme. The 41mm model can be paired with the usual steel bracelet or a light blue rubber strap. The combination of light blue dial and light blue rubber strap is really summery.
The Omega 8900 movement
Looking at the back, you will find similar Poseidon and Seahorse patterns to the other two watches. The 41-mm AquaTerra is equipped with the 8900 to Zen Observatory movement, an automatic movement certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (metaS) with a vibration frequency of 25,200 times per hour (3.5 Hz) and 39 gemstone bearings for 60 hours of power storage. Moreover, the 8900 movement, like the 8800 movement on the 38mm model, can also resist strong magnetic fields of up to 15,000 Gauss.
Overall, I think this new 41mm AquaTerra watch is absolutely impressive. If I wanted to buy a summer watch, I would not hesitate to choose the 75th Anniversary Watch with a 41 mm rubber strap. This is the perfect summer timepiece that combines a sporty style with a Peugeot look. Absolute winner!
Seahorse AquaTerra Universal Time Watch (Model: 220.10.43.22.03.002)
The last of the AquaTerra 75th Anniversary watch trio is the Aquaterra Universal Time Watch. This watch is made of refined steel, the case diameter of 43 mm, the thickness of 14.1 mm, the length of 50.3 mm, the ear spacing of 21 mm. Like the other two new AquaTerra watches, this one comes with a light blue gradient dial. The difference is that the dial elements of the world time watch are more diverse and complex, and have a unique style.
Compared with the regular steel Universal Time watch, the dial of the new Universal Time retains the vertical warp pattern, and the color of the dial is light blue. The two-color 24-hour ring remains unchanged, and the grade 5 titanium internal dial uses laser ablation technology to embossed the exquisite Earth topography. Like the other two new Aqua Terra watches, the hands and timemarkers are covered in a light blue Super-LumiNova luminous coating. The 6 o 'clock position has a calendar window with a built-in blue date dial that echoes the color of the rest of the dial.
Omega 8938 movement
Running under the back of the commemorative watch is the Omega 8938 to the Observatory movement. This automatic movement is certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (metaS) and has a vibration frequency of 25,200 times per hour (3.5 Hz), 39 jewel bearings and provides 60 hours of power storage. In addition to accurately displaying time, minutes and seconds, the timepiece can also track the time in 24 different time zones around the world. Like other movements in the AquaTerra series, the 8938 can resist strong magnetic fields of up to 15,000 Gauss.
The Aqua Terra Universal Time can also be fitted with a steel bracelet (model No. 220.10.43.22.03.002) or a light blue rubber strap (model No. 220.12.43.22.03.002). I prefer the rubber strap because it fits the look of the watch face exceptionally well. It has to be said that the 75th anniversary edition of the Aqua Terra World Time watch is indeed very exquisite and beautiful.

The Seahorse AquaTerra "SummerBlue" watches are well made, with the 38mm and 41mm models looking particularly exquisite. Of all seven commemorative models from Omega's Seahorse series, the 41mm AquaTerra watch with a light blue rubber strap is my favorite. Whether it's a warm summer day for an event or a long summer night for a walk, this watch can provide an excellent wearing experience.
