/PRCWT/Guangzhou, July 5, 2023——On July 3, Suez Suez Hazardous Waste Disposal Project in Shanghai Chemical Zone (hereinafter referred to as "Anyue Project"), jointly invested 450 million yuan by Suez, Shanghai Chemical Industrial Zone, SAIC Motor and Shanghai Petrochemical Corporation, was officially put into operation. The commissioning of the project marks the increase of Suez's hazardous waste incineration capacity in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone from the current 120,000 tons/year to 160,000 tons/year, demonstrating the in-depth cooperation between the partners in the field of hazardous waste treatment and resource recycling, and is an important milestone for Suez and its partners to jointly promote ecological transformation.
The Anyet project is a key investment and construction project to meet the growing demand for hazardous waste disposal by Shanghai Chemical Industrial Zone, SAIC, Shanghai Petrochemical and other different production enterprises, with an annual disposal capacity of 40,000 tons, which can cope with the complexity of hazardous waste treatment and meet the increasingly stringent environmental emission standards in the future.
The treatment facility of the Anyue project has improved the corresponding design requirements of the incinerator and installed special devices, so that various emissions can meet the most stringent emission standards in the European Union. The intelligent management system automates storage and data analysis, and expands the capacity of high-risk waste pretreatment, thereby further improving the safety management of the whole process of hazardous waste disposal, ensuring long-term stable and resilient operations to meet the needs of parks and customers. In addition, the project will supply the heat generated by incineration to the enterprises in the park through the energy recovery device, and the energy recovered every year can replace the burning of standard coal 17,000 tons. The project will become another typical demonstration case for the circular development of pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and further help Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park become the most representative green industrial park in China.

The cooperation between Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park and Suez began at the early stage of the development of the park. Based on the model of integration of public works, Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park chose to cooperate with Suez Group to provide supporting services for industrial water, sewage treatment and hazardous waste disposal. In the past 20 years of cooperation, the two sides have continued to advance the depth and breadth of cooperation, such as joint investment and research and development, to develop nature-based solutions. Since 2020, Shanghai Chemical Industrial Zone and Suez have jointly invested in the Anyue Project together with SAIC and Shanghai Petrochemical. Based on the successful 20-year cooperation between Shanghai Chemical Industrial Zone and Suez, the hazardous waste project will jointly promote the construction of the park into a petrochemical industry base and help SAIC build its green industrial ecosystem by leveraging the experience and advantages of the new partner SAIC Group in project management and Shanghai Petrochemical Group in asset management.
