At the dawn of the digital SLR era, Canon launched its breakthrough EOS 300D in September 2003. With its attractive price and small, lightweight design, the pioneering product captured the top share of the global market at the time and laid the foundation for the growth of the digital single-lens reflex camera market. Since then, Canon has continued to release a series of groundbreaking products, including the EOS-1D series of professional models and the EOS 5D series, which paved the way for video shooting with digital SLRS. In October 2018, the EOS R system was released, marking a new start for Canon to build ideal lens bayonads and to maximize the appeal of new RF lenses.
