On May 18, the Fifth Global User Summit of ZTE Software Innovation 2017 was successfully held in Nice, France. With the theme of "Together", more than 150 executives of multinational operators, authoritative analysts, industry experts and journalists from around the world were invited to the summit. At the meeting, ZTE Soft Innovation shared the research strategy and product plan of digital transformation of operators for the industry, to help the communication industry find the direction and path of change.

In the morning, ZTE Soft Innovation senior experts and industry analysts respectively on "platform-based business model development", "platform-based on-demand business", "Internet of Things and cloud platform strategy and implementation" three topics held a roundtable discussion. Mark Newman, Principal analyst at TM Forum, stressed that "both in dealing with the current digital impact and expanding the blue ocean of the future Internet of Things, operators need to focus on the importance of platform economy, on-demand business and user experience, which is the key to their business model innovation and successful transformation."
Wang Zhiyao, head of innovation management at ZTE Soft Innovation, also said, "The importance of the Internet of Things as the next tuyere of operators' business development is self-evident. Zte's IoT platform, based on BSS core capabilities and Lighthouse platform, integrates BSS operational support capabilities, device management, application development environment, application running environment, and PaaS platform components, which will add power to the development of operators' iot business."
Industry case sharing, explore innovative practice
Zhong Jiansong, chief technology officer of ZTE Soft Innovation, introduced the transformation and IT system construction planning of Chinese operators in combination with the industry development history of China Telecom. "At present, the business support system of domestic telecom operators is about to enter the third stage of development. Zte Softran has designed a set of overall intelligent operation solutions for its transformation needs, which will help operators to carry out intelligent transformation and upgrading of IT systems to meet the diversified needs of future users."
Rickard Damm, head of innovation at Swedish carrier giant Telia, discusses how to transform into a full-fledged digital service provider. "Telia has built a new digital ecosystem and broadband connectivity platform -- Telia Zone. Based on the infrastructure and open API provided by the platform, our partners can develop application services for consumers. The Telia Box will give consumers easy access to digital services without having to buy, install or upgrade."
Joost Fonteyn, head of enterprise business at Belgian telecom operator Proximus, shared best practices on how to enhance the customer experience through agile operations, omnichane and personalization. "Proximus advances digital transformation by fully digitizing its suite of CRM, billing and other systems in small, fast, and agile steps. At the same time, based on the classification of users, targeted to provide personalized self-serving tools, effectively enhance the customer experience."
ZSmart OSS Assurance as a Service DEMO, new intelligent operation
In the summit, ZTE soft innovation introduced its planning and the latest achievements in SDN/NFV, and demonstrated the ZSmart OSS Assurance as a service deployed on Ali Cloud, which was unanimously affirmed by analysts. Meanwhile, ZTE also shared its innovation in business model -- gradually deploying BSS/OSS on the public cloud to help small and medium operators achieve agile, on-demand, intelligent and low-cost operations.
POWER strategy interpretation, clear transformation direction
POWER is the enabling strategy of digital transformation proposed by ZTE Softran. This concept defines the ideas and objectives of transformation. Guided by platform-based IT construction, it aims to improve customer experience, build a cross-industry digital ecosystem, and provide customers with more value-oriented services. Zhou Yong, general manager of ZTE Softronics International market, interpreted the "POWER" transformation strategy for the guests, he said, "ZTE Softronics is committed to becoming an enabter of efficient operation, will continue to pay attention to the transformation needs of operators, through constantly strengthening the innovation practice and agile ability of ZSmart products, to help operators grasp digital opportunities, mining digital business dividends."
